Au Roi Du Cafe and the amazing service staff made my first trip to Paris (and Europe) a 10/10 experience. I stayed close by and am really glad the cafe was on the corner because I visited every single night to grab a drink… or three. All the waiters are funny and welcoming, struck conversations with all of them. They were all fun to talk to and recommended some awesome food and drinks to try. Honestly missing this cafe so much and I’m already looking at flights to return to Paris and this cafe. The Chartreuse mule and St. Germain spritz were my two favorites and wish I drank one more Chartreuse mule because I didn’t know they were uncommon in California. Food and drinks were amazing, service staff were awesome!!

This cafe was next to where we were staying in Paris. We chose to eat here due to proximity & due to the fact they had accepted to keep the keys for us as our friend was out of town. We ordered cappuccino and prosecco for drinks, they were affordable. We ordered beef entrecote and chicken, which was amazing, good portions, timely served and balance of vegetables. The washroom(though just one) was clean and the ambience really cool and cosy including heaters. The first time though, the waiter forcefully added tip for themselves and lied that it was standard policy, which was not cool or ethical. Especially as on the second visit, we just paid what we owed. Would go back for the beef!!

I was recommended this place to enjoy a great cup of coffee & a croissant. I was fortunate to have the attention of the two wonderful staff members this morning to have a lovely wee chat about coffee! In the end I settled on a cappuccino accompanied by a plain croissant. I liked the layers in my drink. I had not ever seen that before, and this was my first cappuccino in Paris so maybe that's how this drink is made? Time will tell. A lovely place to come & treat myself. Awesome service, and you can choose between comfy velvet covered seating around oak tables inside in the warmth or chairs & tables outside on the street.

Warning! Don’t eat hear! I went here this evening and ordered the sausage. When it can it was much different than I expected and I couldn’t bring myself to eat it. I asked them to take it back and that I would have the salmon. I apologized and I was happy to pay for both meals because it wasn’t their fault i didn’t understand the description. I was planning on leaving a nice tip if they didn’t charge me. They brought the salmon and I thought something was off. I had the person with me try it and they thought it was ok. They also had the salmon. About 30 min after eating I became violently ill. I was stuck in their bathroom being sick from both ends. I had to heave into the garbage pale while on the toilet. I was sweating, soaking my hair and my dress. It was horrible! I am feeling better now, 3 hours later but am afraid of what they did to my food and if the symptoms will return. I am terrified thinking of what I put into my body to have that kind...
