I am a bit surprised at the raving reviews…i think there is a bit of standard degradation or the 17th is a bit of a good restaurant desert. ambiance: it is “cozy”. No place to leave coats and belongings and it’s almost as though you were in a play. A glass breaks or someone sneezes and it impacts the entire scene Service: the woman running the place is truly a one-woman show. She is really trying hard. However, despite arriving before another party of 5, she prioritized a “classically french” (read: caucasian) family rather than our “multicultural” (read: Black and Brown). She left us while I was telling her our order to go take their drink order and somehow they were served their entire meal before us. We were literally the last served and at the end her partner prioritized cleaning up the empty tables even though we were finished with our meal and awaiting dessert. The dirty plates left on our table were a bit of an insult to be totally honest. Food: nothing to write home about. Meat was lukewarm and dry. Recommendation: Le Bouquet across the street is closed on sundays, otherwise we would have gone there. They are great, and treat all clients equally (read: in order of arrival not bu their ethnic origin). As a business executive who lives in the neighborhood, it’s a shame they treated me this way. As an American, I am not surprised but as a woman of color who was born in Paris I find it sad when other people of color (yes, you) still act in a colonial mindset of prioritizing based on ethnic origin. Please: break free!

Came early afternoon for a small bite and some wine, it did not disappoint. It was clear this spot is frequented by locals as people would pop over on their walks to hang out with the owner outside. Aside from the nice atmosphere, the food was delicious. We ordered the carbonara which was creamy and flavorful. We also had a plate of pruscuitto and an assortments of cheeses with sliced french baguette on the side. The glass of wine complimented the weather and the food. Everything was reasonably priced.
