Café de la Poste — Restaurant in Paris

I arrived, a table for 1 and ordered a coffee. The food looked amazing and so I was looking forward to seeing the menu and having another coffee but the staff ignored me the entire time I was there. I'm assuming this was because I was just a table for 1 and wouldn't be spending as much as other larger parties. I asked twice for a menu, nobody brought it. I then got fed up and went to the bar to pay, with cash in my hand. I stood there for 3 or 4 minutes, surrounded by all 4 members of staff who continued to ignore me. So I walked out without paying for my coffee. If they can't be bothered acknowledging me, when i am standing there trying to pay, then I have no problem with leaving my bill unpaid. I have worked in hospitality for 21 years and its not difficult to be nice, even when its a busy shift. Very very disappointing experience on an otherwise wonderful trip to Paris. Would not recommend for solo visitors unless you want to be treated worse than...

Update: I have to take this place down by at least one star after returning, this time for dinner. The food was fine, but the service was indifferent. The music went from pleasantly background, to blaringly loud, then back down again; it seemed the staff were having their own party. When four aspiring fashionistas crowded into a two-person café table next to us, oblivious to the fact that they were almost sitting in our laps, we asked the waiter to move and were met with a shrug. We moved ourselves, carrying the forks, knives, carafe etc. Staff here need to manage their tables better, accommodate grown-up guests and control Gen Z. Disappointing, as I thought this might be a reliable local spot.

don’t go if you are not Parisian or don’t speak French, all the waitress think they are so cool and pretty with bleached eyebrows and skirts and trendy tattoos, wouldn’t bother talking to you, and when they finally crack their mouths open after ignoring you(we were standing in front of them) for 10mins, you could hear nothing but impatience and annoy, oh I guess I need to say sorry for bothering you at your job French babes

update: Classic and laughable owner’s response ‘it’s your problem’, sure it is when this place is the only one I had bad experience with when I’ve stayed here for 4 days....
