Went there twice thinking the first time was bad luck but it wasn't.
Sadly, the service is incredibly bad... We had to wait 20 minutes to get a drink after we sat down even though it was far from crowded. After we were done with our drinks and they were visibly empty, neither one of the 2 waiter came to ask if we wanted anything else (Breaking News: We did).
After a good 15 minutes hoping they would show up, we decided to ask one of the waiter to order something. He said he was going to drop off some stuff and then come back, so we said thank you and waited. He didn't come and his colleague started taking orders from other tables, so we figured, ok maybe there were confusion and we should ask his colleague. To our surprise, his colleague said "I'll be right over" but instead started to let 2 other tables pay their receipt. Taking our order and giving it to the bartender would've taken like 10 seconds (we were only 2) and then he could've done all those things in the meantime, but no.
His colleague (the first one we asked to) was just lowering his eyes everytime he walked past us. Fun story as well, his little table where he organizes his things was litteraly right across the window from us and as we were trying to catch a glance at him he was just looking down avoiding us.
This was a very very frustrating experience since we were polite from the start, hello, please, thank you everytime we talked to them.
We just decided to leave at that point and so we just stood up, paid, said thank you and left...
Now if I had to talk about the choices there, sure, there are a decent enough drink choices.
Have not tried the food so I can't comment.
Prices are "reasonnable", they are the average you can expect from a place around here.
Overall, I'm extremely dissapointed because they made us feel bad and uncomfortable when we were just polite and trying to have a drink.
Do not recommend until the...
Read moreAVOID. There are places that are charming in their informality, and there are places that mask an underlying hostility to guests with a veneer of “informality.” This place is the latter.
We walked in at 4:15 pm on a Monday. The restaurant was 10% full. We spoke to the staff in French. We sat down, ordered wine and water, and waited. Nothing happened.
After a long time, we asked about our wine and requested a menu. We waited. The menu came out and we were told that they were out of the wine we ordered. We ordered another bottle, and our food.
We sat and waited. Nothing. Other tables were being served. Finally, after 40 minutes without anything - no wine, no food, not even a glass of water - we walked to the bar to ask about the delay. The bartender, who seemed to be the manager, was all full of attitude and replied that “We’re very busy.” He lied and claimed we had only been there a short time.
He was spectacularly rude, and it was clear that he enjoyed toying with us for his pleasure and agenda. We were made to feel unwelcome here. And all they needed to do was tell us that instead of messing with us and wasting our time. Literally my worst experience in a lifetime of visiting and...
Read moreThis place has been around for a long time and we like it’s Parisian atmosphere and crowd. It is a great place to do what we, French people do best : spending the evening or the afternoon talking about how we could change the world and getting mad at each other as well. Location.
The neighborhood is known for it’s nightlife, a lot of bars and not that many nightclubs. Around 2am you see a lot of drunk kids walking around leaving the neighborhood, going back home or to a night club.
I used to live in the neighborhood and it's on of the most authentic hang out in the area. I mean it, all these new place popping up try to hard to be hip.
The place looks like a set for a Belle Epoque movie. Newspaper and magazine are available for you to read for free. Food is ok, you will get the bistrot experience for a normal price.
I recommend having breakfast there, its around 6 bucks and you get a fresh orange juice and two "tartines or a croissant.
The staff is professional, cool and easy going and they can tell you about what is cool to do...
