The Bar I visited during November 2018 during my week long solo trip. I make note of this because this bar is so perfect for solo travelers. At least my type of solo traveler.
I started the evening seated at the bar reading a book with plans to people watch and hear French spoken by locals. I finished the evening engaged in conversation with the bartender and locals. We set up a barter system. They helped me practice my French and I helped them practice their English. I’m still in contact with one of the buddies I made that night.
The Vibe It felt very Cheers like. I arrived right at opening on a Friday after spending the day at Parc de Belleville, nearby. (GO THERE) There’s nothing extravagant about the space in decor. However, the patrons are what make Onze Bar a sight to see (and hear). I can’t tell you what “type” of person frequents the bar because it’s all types. Such a diverse crowd that night.
*One thing to note is that I felt very safe there and walking through the neighborhood. I’m noting this because another review of the neighborhood stated the opposite.
The Booze and Food Nothing to complain about here. Right priced drinks and eats. Good cocktails. Yummy food.
Overall If you’re looking for a Parisian bar where you feel like everyone knows your name even though you know that’s impossible but you just feel at home, visit Onze Bar. Fun times await.

We were six of us. I couldn’t believe that I would enjoy eating and drinking at this bar. Lentils and baguette was delicious. Fried lacked crisp but still tasty. Our drinks were brilliant, geez I was drunk after only 1. We order 6 beers, 2 aperol spritz and a vodka based drink.
The biggest downside is their toilet, I wish they’d keep it clean. And there’s only one, so it’s meant for everybody and yet not kept clean. Imagine drinking so much and when you have to use the facilities, you’d have to clean first before you could even use it. Big disappointment there, otherwise enjoyed...
Auteur :...
