Restaurants like Dai Dai should flat out scare the competition in Paris. With a blend a great indoor space/mood, overworked but exceedingly helpful and friendly staff and food that is both super fresh and absolutely delicious - Dai Dai sets a very high bar for other restaurants as well as you with your expectations when you go to your next Paris restaurant.
I discovered Dai Dai while on my way to meet friends a few weeks back. While passing the place I was taken back by the decor and wonderful smells emanating from the front door.
The restaurant itself is rather unusual in that it doesn't have a huge menu, one could go far as to say there's really no main courses as there seems to be loads of finger food as well as pizza.
We arrived and started first with an aperatif and then ordered Cichetti which turned out to be three tapas style tartines with different toppings - absolutely delicious.
From there we ordered mozzarella di buffala, grilled veggie plate and a side of marinated anchovies. EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS.
If you are in the area, make a point of stopping here and enjoying some super fresh and delicious food. Prices are super...
Read moreI generally do not leave bad reviews but in this case I should definitely write this. We ordered a starter and a main dish. Both were brought to us at the same time. When we told him that we wanted the main dish later, he replied, "No problem, I will heat the dish and bring it later to you." We ordered Coquillettes which was so tasteless and horrible that we didn’t even eat it. We also ordered a Rotolino pizza which had no cheese at all and only tasted like ketchup. Finally we ordered tiramisu which was really delicious. The waiter (boy with slightly long hair) was very rude and unkind. When we asked for a check, we were told that we had to pay directly to the bar. But in the end I still demanded a check where there were inaccuracies. We had ordered 2 tiramisu and it said 3. I do not recommend this place. Probably all of this was the reason why there were so few people at the...
Read moreAppetizers were standard nothing to talk about. Pizzas were underwhelming, very watery burrata used on top leaving a puddle of cheese water (so appetizing - sarcasm for those who didn’t get it). Worst of all, the Cezar salad is absolutely horrible. They used old Romain lettuce (color was red and oxidized), disturbing looking chicken (extremely old and soggy - an old Mcnugget would’ve been better), croutons are just plain pieces of chewy bread, and above all 15€ for the tiniest portion of a salad. Luckily it was so tiny for it was so disgusting. A place to avoid at all costs. Not worth your time or money.
Ce restaurant est vraiment horrible....
