Tried it on UberEats as it looked all right, the pics were tempting, and I really couldn’t be arsed to cook. I should have known better… this is Paris after all… the city were taste goes to die… especially with regard to Japanese cuisine (there are, of course, notable exceptions). In their defence, everything was impeccably packed, and the gyozas were not that bad after all. Thus said, the dough was highly likely shop bought based on texture and shininess, and the chicken could have been more present in taste. No soy sauce provided somehow, but hardly an issue since my pantry is almost a Japanese supermarket. Now… to the ramen. First of all, this being stingy Paris, I made sure to order three times the amount of pork… to my amazement, all that could be found was the thinnest and meagrest ONE slice of pork weighting in at about 10g… Fine, mistakes happen… I’ll just whinge at UberEats and hopefully get a refund. Still, rather annoying. Anyhow, I plunged the solid ingredients into the rather nice smelling broth. Now, the noodles were all clumped, but that’s to be expected. However, what I was not expecting was the al dente crunchiness of these clearly shop bought noodles. At least the broth was tasty, but not groundbreaking. Perhaps it’s me, but a ramen joint that does not make its own noodles and broth is just a joke. Add to that the absurd Parisian prices, and you’ve got an angry customer. I am still in awe at how an amazing fully homemade ramen (noodles, broth and all) with a host of choices is £10-15 in effing London (and we’re talking posh N1 here) while in this stupid city €15-20 will get you 50p pot noodles in a cardboard bowl. To conclude, as long as you have a few Japanese staples and your choice of noodles, don’t bother and make the ramen yourself… it takes 15mins, really, and it won’t taste much different than you’d get here anyway. The second star is for the impressing packaging (really!), the tasty broth (regardless of provenance), and that this is still a better option amongst many others in the...
Read moreExcellent food let down by unprofessional service
The food deserves high praise - authentic ramen with quality ingredients at reasonable prices, and a good selection of sake. From a culinary standpoint, this place delivers exactly what you'd hope for in a ramen restaurant.
Unfortunately, the service severely undermines the dining experience. The server (who appeared to be the owner or manager) was consistently dismissive and condescending. Simple questions about the menu were met with eye-rolling and mockery, as if customers should already be ramen experts. His attitude made us feel unwelcome, like we were inconveniencing him by being there.
The poor service went beyond attitude - he frequently disappeared from the dining area, leaving customers waiting. We spent 30 minutes at the bar simply trying to pay our bill because no staff were available.
It's frustrating because the kitchen clearly knows what they're doing, but the front-of-house experience is so off-putting that it overshadows the quality food. With better service training, this could...
Read moreFood was ok, nothing to brag about. Price wise it was more on the expensive side for what you're getting. Aside from that, what's even worse is the service. Staff was too busy dealing with home delivery orders and therefore we were cut off in the service. Staff didn't even ask us for drinks, nor did they take the effort to offer on a later time. We eventually decided to stick with the gyoza's and even those took a long time. When paying the bill I even mentioned it to the cashier about the bad service, and it looked like he didn't care. Such a shame for a place that serves food from a country that's know for respect and discipline. I do not recommend going here and I've had my fair share of Japanese restaurant (especially...
