Molten egg is iced!? What self-respecting Japanese restaurant does this? Sesame cheesecake has a sour taste to it, too dense in texture, and has the refrigerator dew on top of it. Complained to staff, was told “everybody loves it”, “we sold 25 of them today”, and that I shouldn’t talk over him. Ok so when a guy talks, a girl has to listen, even if it is nonsense, and when a girl defends her taste, she is aggressive? Then yes I am aggressive! And I find their sesame cheesecake of unacceptably low quality. Staff still charges the full price even though I had only one bite, because “you ordered to experience it”, and apparently it is my fault such experiment went south. Therefore, I am posting the facts here so others can decide whether to take the risk to “experiment” here or not. To be fair, rice was hot,...
Read moreHad dinner at this cozy Japanese izakaya in Paris. The vibe is spot-on lanterns, vintage posters, and shelves lined with sake bottles give it an authentic, energetic feel. They’ve got some great Japanese beers too tried the Isekado Gohan Lager and the Sakekasu Hazy IPA. Both worth a sip.

On the flip side, the poulpe salad was fresh and well-seasoned, and the black sesame ice cream (no photo, sorry!) was a great way to end the meal nutty, creamy, and just the right amount of sweet.
I do appreciate the quality of the ingredients and the effort in presentation. With a few tweaks on seasoning, this place could easily hit higher marks. For now,...
Read moreVery authentic experience for those want to feel as if they were in a japanese shokudo. We tried the chicken katsu don and the tofu don and the salmon don. All of them were really delicious. We tried also the maguro (tuna) sashimi and it was fresh and tasty. We had also the miso soup which is a REAL soup and not just some water with miso paste ! All the flavors were strong and authentic. For those who went to Japan, this affordable place is one of the rarest in Paris where you might feel like in Japan. For drinks we had the highball (whiskey and sparkling water) and the yuzu spritz (yuzu shu and sparkling water). And for dessert we had the black sesame cheesecake. We paied overall 87.5 euros for 3 persons. A little bit expensive but worthy for the quality and the authenticity and the kindness of the...
