Le 138 — Restaurant in Paris

This restaurant probably does not like American and Canadian tourism to spend money in this bar restaurant, we arrived in Paris this August 21 in the evening, and we had a hotel near the Gare Lyon , me and my wife went to walk in the streets very late in the evening, after a long walk we were hungry and at 2 am not much was open and we passed this bar restaurant open all night and we decided to stop at the terrace to order a pizza. 2 gentlemen who were waiting near the entrance, I asked them if it was possible to eat, and they refused us entry and the right to go eat in this restaurant as the only excuse that we were not well dressed enough to sit down, because I had a sporty outfit, basketball Chicago hat a typically American look...

I can understand for a 3-star restaurant, or a select bar, but for a vulgar classic bar restaurant, what a snobbery these Parisians are. I m 50 years old, this is the first time in my life life that I was refused to eat in a restaurant.. After seeing a police officer the next day I asked the question of refusal to serve a client to eat and replied that it was illegal..

So dear friend stay away from restaurants with incompetent...

Absolutely loved this place. I used to live in the area, years ago. I came back to France for two weeks in December 2023, stayed in the same area, and found this place. I quickly adopted it as my regular stop for an apero. Great vibes, very reasonably priced drinks, cute cats to interact with, I just loved it. On my last night in Paris, before returning to the USA, I also had their pizza. I had the veggie pizza. It was really good! And I couldn't finish it by myself. Very good quality/price ratio. I will miss this place, and I hope it's there when I get back to town...

Headed here after hearing considered as one of the better, smaller drinking spots in Paris and found it to be a comfortable, relaxed spot made even better by a very patient member of staff who not once seemed frustrated at communicating with us in English.

We came for a beer and ended up trying out some bread and cheese, a delicious margherita pizza and some very good pastries, all of which were surprisingly fresh given how late our visit was...
