From the moment you open the door of 17.45 it is clear that you are in for a special dining experience. The air is heady with the aroma of ripened cheeses and cured meats with a subtle background of wood. We are greeted by two lovely women who are busy behind the counter preparing cheeses for the evening. Cured meats hang all around them.
We are led to our table across a warm and cozy room that at seven in the evening is still quiet. Soon enough it will fill with Parisiens whose conversation and laughter add to the charm.
The three of us together make our choices from delights that are both familiar but also new to us. Our choices soon arrive with crusty bread and fine French wine as well as cider. It is a feast.
