One of the worst dining experiences we've ever had. Avoid this place.
My partner and I were appalled by the service at this restaurant. From the moment we walked in, the staff were rude and dismissive. We were barely greeted-just shown to our seats, the menus were thrown on the table, and the waiter walked off without a word.
When he returned, he rushed us to order, clearly uninterested and impatient. When the food finally arrived, he slammed the plates down and left again without checking in. The entire experience felt hostile and uncomfortable.
But the worst part came with the bill. We were charged for 22 drinks instead of 2. When we flagged him down, he snatched the receipt from our hands before we could even explain-like he knew he’d been caught trying to scam us. The couple at the next table witnessed the entire exchange and looked just as concerned.
He returned with a new receipt, but it was still incorrect, listing a more expensive wine than what we actually ordered. At this point, we just wanted to leave. I took the bill to the cashier, who didn’t let me verify the amount on the EFTPOS machine and looked annoyed when I asked for a receipt.
The whole experience was unprofessional, dishonest, and downright rude. If you’re in Paris, do yourself a favour and eat literally...

I was invited to eat at this restaurant that may not appear to be the most notable or fancy to tourists, but it brought out some delicious food that I'm still dreaming about.
The portion sizes are large, so come in VERY hungry! The flavors were so rich & flavorful, especially their buttery escargot that was so good I burned my tongue begging for seconds (do not follow my actions).
I'd recommend that while the bread was a great compliment to the escargot, don't feel the need to keep eating it if you are full, because if you finish your basket, they WILL keep re-filling it.
I can't say much other than the food was wonderful and the employees were kind and attentive to our needs, never leaving us needing to request anymore food or water as they were prepared to assist us.
The staff spoke just enough English to understand us, but I wouldn't say it was fluent. So, if you feel uncomfortable at the thought of trying to clarify anything, then I'd advise you to visit a more touristic restaurant.
Chez Papa is a down-to-earth spot for Parisian delicacies that'll keep your mouth watering for more. As an American, I felt welcomed into their home, and I would gladly...
Read moreA hidden gem!! Thank you for starting off my Paris experience amazingly!!
This place looks like a small, family-owned business, located right next to a cemetery, so our expectations were pretty low.
However, all the food they served was extraordinary!! There are mostly duck-related options, with different, exquisite sauces, including some personal recipes. They are all accompanied by sauteed potatoes, which were very nicely prepared!
They have a nice desert choice which is "4 random mini-deserts", which we enjoyed for a fair price.
The atmosphere was also nice, and the waiters were friendly. Both the waiters and the menus were english-friendly.
We werw here on a Monday evening without a reservation. However, the place is quite small, so I wouldn't expect it to be free during more touristic times.
Thank you!...
