I eat at Un Jour à Hanoï every time I come to Paris to visit my family. The restaurant recently expanded to make the restaurant larger and it is very comfortable, light and bright. They also have electric plugs spaced on one of the banquette walls which is very helpful for charging your phone.
Now for the food: I have eaten many of the specialties of the chef which are rooted in the traditional recipes of the owner/chef's grandmother. I have enjoyed every one. In particular, the pho broth is perfectly spiced and clearly homemade - the scent of allspice and the slightly piquant pepper delighted me. I have also eaten their coms, all of which are very tasty. I am in love with their Tom Com (shrimp surrounded by crispy green rice). I also always have their salade speciale de Hanoi. I have not yet tried their desserts but really need to try to leave some room in my stomach to do that the next time. The bananas with tapioca looks intriguing as I am a huge fan of tapioca and this one is made with coconut milk.
The service is excellent and welcoming. I hope you will visit Un Jour à Hanoï so that you can enjoy its fresh and flavorful food.

For the main, I had Phở entrecôte, and wow… I’ve had a lot of phở over the years across the U.S. (coast to coast), Canada too — and while I’ve always been skeptical when people claim Paris has the best Vietnamese food outside of Vietnam… I think there might be some real truth to that now. The flavors were incredibly clean, layered, and comforting without being heavy. I wrapped it all up with Bánh bò, which was light and subtly sweet — perfect ending. Also, as a solo diner, I felt totally...

I tried the phở, bún chả, and bò bún, and each dish was bursting with freshness and beautifully balanced spices. The broth in the phở was rich and aromatic, and the bún chả had that perfect smoky-charred flavor.
Service was friendly and efficient, and the prices are very reasonable for Paris. Whether you’re craving a taste of home or trying Vietnamese cuisine for the first time, this place is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be...
