Le Bariolé — Restaurant in Paris

After doing some sums I estimate I have eaten over 300 burgers - from childhood crappy burgers you get at school; to high end delicious creations. It's a pretty standard food. I've eaten burgers on every continent except Antarctica. Honestly, I'm not even a massive burger fan, but I know a burger. It's meat between a bun.

That said, this is without doubt the worst one I have ever eaten.

This burger was so bad, I went back a few days later to order the meal again to try and figure out what about the burger turns me off. Still no idea. The closest was that it tasted "chemically" (a terrible description, I know) I don't understand why it taste so bad, it just does. Two bites taken in total, never again.

The place gets two stars as the staff were nice, a potential theory that perhaps it wasn't actually beef or I might have some unknown allergy to an ingredient...

Lovely place. Great atmosphere and service. The starter and dessert are delicious. However, the main dishes are quite average. We ordered 3 main, the steak, grilled fish with pan fries risotto and steamed fish with vegs. The grilled fish with pan fried risotto was divine, I never had pan fried risotto before and this one tasted so good. It’s crispy outside but not to hard to chew and the amount was just right.

But sadly, the steak was tender but tasteless, we had better steaks at another place before so we weren’t impressed here. Also, the steam fish was quite bland, but this was my first time tried it so they might cook it right, it’s just not my cup of tea.

The cocktails menu has a good variety and I ordered a dark and stormy but I didn’t quite like it either, it’s average compared to other bistro in the same area near...

Fantastic experience. We arrived 30 mins before closing, but Mike served us up a charcuterie platter with no complaints. The food and drinks came quickly and the service was friendly and excellent. We had a delicious meal and wonderful experience. Mike was super friendly and we had a great time talking with him at the the end of the night. Parisians are wonderful people and Mike is one great example of that. His English was excellent and he made us feel like we were wanted as customers and friends. I can't recommend this restaurant enough, and it just another example of why I love Paris and the French people so much. Thank you Mike...
