*Le Cornichon – A Hidden Gem in Montparnasse** In today’s world, we’re all chasing the same trends: elbowing our way into crowded "must-visit" spots, snapping photos of famous paintings, or squeezing into opera houses just to say we’ve been there. We convince ourselves we love what a thousand others love—because it’s easier than trusting our own instincts. But sometimes, the real magic happens when you ditch the guidebooks and step boldly into the unknown. **Le Cornichon**, tucked away on Rue Liancourt in Montparnasse, shatters every cliché. Here, you won’t find the cold indifference of Parisian institutions that rely on tourist turnover. Instead, the owner and staff welcome you with genuine warmth—a rarity in a city where many restaurants don’t bother to try (after all, if you leave unsatisfied, a thousand others will take your place). But not at Le Cornichon. Every dish is crafted with care, and the secret ingredient is unmistakable: **love**. Love for the ingredients, love for the process, love for the act of sharing food. The wine list is thoughtfully curated, and the chef takes pride in helping you find *your* perfect match. This place isn’t just a meal—it’s **love at first bite**. Unpretentious, heartfelt, and deliciously honest.

We had an incredible meal at Le Cornichon, a cozy gem in the 14th arrondissement that delivers on both flavor and charm. From start to finish, every dish was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully balanced. We began with the salmon appetizer and the foie gras — both were rich, fresh, and elegantly plated. For mains, the duck and the steak were absolute standouts: cooked to perfection, deeply flavorful, and served with just the right accompaniments. The quality of the ingredients really shines here. Dessert was no afterthought — the fruit tart was light and refreshing, while the chocolate soufflé was indulgent, warm, and perfectly risen. Every bite reminded us why French cuisine is so celebrated. Service was warm and attentive without being overbearing, and the atmosphere felt authentically Parisian without the clichés. A true neighborhood favorite that deserves a detour.

Our visit to Le Cornichon resulted in a decidedly mixed experience. The foie gras and the chocolate dessert were the highlights of our meal, delivering on both flavor and presentation. Regrettably, the starters and main courses fell short of our expectations and did not meet the standard set by the aforementioned dishes.

One unexpected surprise was a dessert that contained a strong alcohol component, which we were not made aware of beforehand. This certainly marred the end of our meal.

We also encountered challenges with communication. The menu was exclusively in French with no English translations available, and the wait staff's limited proficiency in English further compounded the problem. An additional drawback was the absence of Wi-Fi, a common amenity we've grown to expect at establishments such as this.

Overall, despite enjoying some aspects of our visit to Le Cornichon, the experience left us feeling disappointed. At such a high price we expected to have a...
