I was very hungry and searched for an asian restaurant near the Volontaires Metro Station. The first thing you realize when entering this place is that it's legendary and very cozy. After opening the door, I was afraid I entered the wrong place, because the first thing you see is a bar counter. But don't worry, there are tables on the other side of the bar counter, you'll see it once you have fully entered the place. The interior is decorated with various posters, books, and also a painted portrait of the owner himself 👍.
So as I said before, I was very hungry, and first wanted to get a rice dish, however because it was windy and rainy at that time, so I ended up choosing its Pho. The broth as shown below, was very fresh and delicious. The meat was tender and interestingly, instead of meatballs, it consisted of bits of ground beef. After I nearly ate all of the beef and noodles, I ordered one rice bowl so that I can finish the broth (yes it was that good 👌, and also the hungry factor 😅). From the price point, it is affordable and worth the money spent, I paid 9 euros for the Pho (8) and additional rice bowl (1). All-in-all, it was a very nice experience, if I were to visit the area again, I would love to try their other dishes 😊
Oh, before I end this, an important note: they only accept cash! Luckily I saw the photos here, because I didnt have enough cash at that time so I went to...

The place is very cozy - it's like you entered in a small, old library - but also the man who served us (and probably owns it) was truly warm and polite. He even advised us not to order more plates than we could handle, which was very honest and ultimately a good idea!
As for the food...oh my God. It was so tasty, very original recipes, homemade, with good quality ingredients. YUM-MY! Another good part: we were served very fast and, since we were very hungry, this was yet another plus to our experience. Not to mention that the prices were unexpectedly low compared to Paris rates (25 euros for a starter, two main dishes and two beers). I really hope I can visit this place one more time on this trip or else in the future.
I absolutely recommend it to anyone who searches original tastes and true...
Read moreI visited when it wasn't busy time so I was the only person for entire time. I ordered a nem and pho. Nem came pretty quicky but I literally waited for 37minute to get my pho! I heard a women(assuming the owner's wife) stifrying something 🤔 but of course that was not what I ordered. When the food came out, it wasn't for me but was for the family who run this business.. I wanted something quick and go but for a bowl of soup that took 37 minute, No Thank You. BTW nem was good but pho soup was too bland and just salty. It was not worth of wait and money. Ps: If they want to take a break during business hours, they should close business during break. I am paying customer but I was treated as stranger...
