Les Fontaines — Restaurant in Paris

The good: The place is chic, is good located, the service was polite (not friendly) and attentive in a way. The menu has a nice selection of French dishes.

The not so good: The food is overpriced for what it was. The onion soup was the worst onion soup I have had in Paris, it had no salt whatsoever and I couldn’t taste any cherry. Was so bad that couldn’t make myself eat more than few spoons. When the waiter asked me if I was done, I said yes, so the waiter asked how it was, and I said that it was honestly really bad. To this the waiter simply said, ok and left. The meat and the fries had also NO salt, and well, is not optimal but you can add salt on top but in fries, when they are not good seasoned in the correct moment, it is impossible to season them well. But hey, I was hungry so I finish the meat. I had a beer there and got served with some olives and peanuts, the “weird” to not say disturbing, was to see olive bones in there… But the worst was that in the maybe 40 minutes I was there, 3 mices passed next and in front of my table (which was inside the restaurant).

Jan-2024 It is likely the chef was changed. Onion soup was good in Mar-2023, but it was bad this time. Bread was burned and small amount of cheese, no taste of the soup…I claimed and they changed it. Though it got “looks” better than the first one, still the similar taste. I won’t order this in the future. Though the main dish “onglet de boeuf” was good, the fries were very bad. I don’t know if I would come back next time.

Big NO! If you’re not French you’re treated as second class person. Cheeky and really stressed waiter… We had the mispleasure to be served by. Very nervous and pushy puts the pressure on you to order quick and ask no questions, while the outside sitting has 3 tables in total. Hahahaha, imagine when it gets really busy. Also tried a sirloin steak at dinner time it was tender as an old shoe. Just not worth the money and...
