Top 10 Must-Try Peking Duck Spots in Paris 🔥🦆🔥

Wife and I went to this place for lunch on the last day of 2022 after visiting Parc Des Princes. Being a Chinese native, I always enjoy an authentic Chinese dish wherever I go. We ordered a small perking duck (北京烤鸭), sweet and sour pork (咕噜肉) and deep fried tofu (家常豆腐). The food is above average for sure, a bit on the salty side but that is just my personal preference. The plating isn’t anything to be called out. For me I don’t really care if the food comes in with a bow tie or T-shirt, as long as they taste good. The owner is very friendly and talkative. Being a French born Chinese, his Chinese is decent. I give four star instead of five mainly because 1) the service is a bit on the long side (took us 45 minutes to get our food while the table beside us got their food much quicker despite the fact they came in later than us); 2) the sweet and sour pork is a bit cold, as if it was pre cooked or left on the counter for too long.

Review We enjoyed a lovely meal at La Palais du Bonheur. We spoke with the owner ,and the chef, they were so helpful in providing information to help us make the best ordering decisions for our dinner. We ordered the the Crispy Pork spring rolls, garlic and ginger chicken, and a duck dish for one person that was like having a version of fresh and crispy duck tacos! All the food was hot, fresh and delicious. We loved everything! We also had two delicious bao buns. We only took a couple of pictures, as we simply were too distracted by the amazing meal we were served. At the end of the meal, we had to take a little food home, but we were not sad. Tomorrow will be a great day! Thank you for a wonderful dining experience!

We came on a Sunday night and it was fairly busy but still got a nice place to sit. The decoration of the restaurant is really lovely. A bit like a a Chinese market place.

Starters were OK, but they didn’t come at the same time. Actually the second only after the first was finished. And no excuse either. The soup Chinese hot & spicy soup was good as you expect it, but the price for a small pot (7,5€) is really too high. The dumplings were announced as with Coriander but didn’t had any. When we asked the excuse was given that the new chef maybe doesn’t make them like announced on the card. Really….

The two ladies that served and took orders were clearly overwhelmed with the service. People arrived and didn’t get the menu, some tables remained with the plates etc after guests left. After an hour we only had our starters.

The Mason came also not at the same time. Taste was really good what saved them from a one star rating.

In the end we sat there in front of empty plates and there was no intention to take them, bring dessert menu or ask for anything.

When paying small little surprise, the small plain rice pot was 3,2€ the bigger noodles pot was 7€ and a total was 60€ for two with only one drink. And the worst...

Our first visit to Le Palais du Bonheur and it will not be our last, it was an all round great experience.

From the moment you walk in your are made welcome and treated like friends.

The menu is vast but has recommendations on it and the staff as so knowledgeable as well, giving recommendations based on your preferences if asked.

Service was perfectly paced, not rushed, not slow and staff always on hand if you need something.

The food was amazing, perfectly cooked and great for individual meals or for sharing. Everything on the menu looked too delicious so we will have to go back just to try more dishes!

There was a nice ambience in the restaurant and good amount of space, not packed in too tight like many French restaurants.

There was level access but the loos were downstairs, but this cannot be helped! The restaurant was close to bus and metro routes so easy to access.

Booking recommended as the place was full!

For the quality and the experience the prices were really good. I would go out of my way to eat here again and would recommend it to all my friends and family.

The food was too good to stop and get photos, the the photos of other reviews are...

I dislike leaving bad reviews but this was a really bad experience for us. From making us sit in a backroom that looked like a storage space where we had to share table with other people (we're talking sitting accross other people at a round table), which led to mostly being ignored, to eat in front of my family by myself because nothing else was ready. The food was not bad but not great either, we ended up leaving before we were done eating anyways because we would have been late to our psg game. Couldn't even bring 3 simple rice bowls without being reminded. They looked like they were overwhelmed and probably usually do better in terms of services, but they were kind of snappy to me and this was overall really bad for 82E. Also as advice, when people order bottled water, please do not bring it already open to the table. Thankfully the lady tried making things right by not charging me for the disgusting coconut drink I...
