Marius — Restaurant in Paris

There are so many positive things I want to say about this restaurant. First, 3 people in the restaurant said hello to me even before I took off my coat. In Paris, this has become rare. Second, Marius takes care to come to each table and greet each guest and shake hands. This simple action makes you feel like you will be well taken care of, which we definitely were. We followed all of Marius' recommendations and were not disappointed. Third, the food and drinks were exceptional. Is it weird to love my kir? The food is traditional French with a focus on seafood. The quantity was copius, which unfortunately didn't leave room for dessert after the appetizer and main. Fourth, you could tell all the people in the restaurant were devoted regulars. I would hate to draw tourists to this very locally appreciated restaurant, but if I had discovered this place when I first came to France, I would've fallen in love with Paris the moment I ate at this restaurant. Came here for lunch on a weekday: place was full. The chef-owner took the order himself. I ordered fresh grilled anchovies as appetizers, and scallop roasted in shell as main course. Both were delicious. The sides that came with the scallops were mashed potatoes and a blanched collard green. The mashed potatoes were the smoothest I have ever had. With a glass of wine and a cafe, the bill came to €46.5.

The only thing that kept this from being a five-star review was the service. The chef-owner was the only friendly one. Waiters dropped food on your table without even stopping. It was actually among the worst service I have experienced in...

Marius is wonderful restaurant discovered last year . We could not wait to go back . It is a hidden gem in Paris specialising in exquisite seafood . I would highly recommend « Salade de Tourteaux aux Herbes », « Pavé de Turbot » and as a dessert, their « Tarte Fine Tiède aux Pommes » . The best ! The service was impeccable with attentive and knowledgable staff who made excellent recommendations.
