Long lines and a full house is common for Ngoc Xuyen, which is a great indicator that the food is exceptional here. Serving mainly the local Vietnamese community, they have super authentic food and fast service. There are many Vietnamese restaurants in this area of Paris, but if you are looking for the home style cuisine of Saigon, this is the place to go. I had a bowl of Phở with squid, fish, pork and prawns and it came with chopped red chili and bean sprouts and greens on the side so you can dress your Phở they way you like it. For 10 euro it was a huge bowl and it was super delicious and a tremendous value for the price. They had several different kinds of phở so it gives me an excuse to come back here many more times to try them all. Their kitchen is open so you can see that the food is super clean and prepared on the spot with quality ingredients. I tried Bún Bò Huế here last time and it was okay, the broth is not too spicy as compared to other stores, but this can be adjusted by the condiments. The beef was tender but still a bit chewy, depending on the person and it's not really my style. The pork leg on the other hand was super tender, I loved it. Overall the dish was okay, but I would love to have additional pig blood and shrimp paste 🤤.
I did not try the dessert but it seems like everyone ordered it here so I will try it out next time.
The price is decent, 14.5e for a bowl, plus the staff...
