Wonderful meal and lovely experience at Gemma Pizzeria!

This place is a real “gem”, offering fresh, well-prepared food and drinks with friendly staff and a great atmosphere.

Located on a lovely side street close to Place de Bastille and close to the Seine river, this is a popular place to have drinks with locals and enjoy a meal. The pizzas are made to order, really good and their pastas are perfect too. The beers on draft are cold and crisp and their wine selection is wide-ranging.

Joaquim gave stellar table service, and Ghazi was quick behind the bar; both these guys deserve real praise, very professional. All the staff are kind, respectful and attentive, and they speak many languages including French, Italian, English, Spanish and Arabic.

Upon recommendation, we decided to pop into Pizzeria Gemma on a Sunday and were so glad we did. Despite not having a reservation, the lovely Giada was incredibly accommodating and found us a table rather than turning us away.

We enjoyed absolutely delicious pizza and pasta with meatballs – everything was fresh, flavourful, and clearly made with care. Giada checked in on us during the meal to ensure everything was to our liking, which it certainly was!

We even had a lovely chat about Italy, where we’re heading next – a really warm and personal touch that made the experience even more memorable.

Excellent, delicious Italian staff. Having frequented East Momma and the Italian restaurant right across the street we mostly passed by this GEM! Totally wrong Gemma certainly outranks the two others. Why? Rafinement without snobbery, cozy personal warm service. P.S. Returned yesterday, all confirmed. This time we ordered just a pizza and an antipasti. I don't think ever, ever we had such a pizza. The tomato sauce was, well out of this world.
