This was sold to me as the best vegan option in Paris. I realise vegan options are limited (almost non-existent) in the city but that doesn't mean you should overrate something just because it's vegan. Toutnouilles might be a more accurate though less helpful name as the amount of tofu you get is minimal compared to the amount of noodles. It was nice enough but it was simply a bowl of noodles with a small amount of tofu and cost 12 euros (which I had to make it up to 15 euros to use a card). Wow, these dandan noodles are amazing! They have such a great chew and bite to them, combined with a savory, slightly nutty sauce and fluffy homemade tofu. The owner is very friendly and happy to tell Toutofu's story: after his father opened the (then vegetarian) restaurant, he experimented for years to develop a vegan noodle recipe with the same satisfying texture as egg noodles. For the price we paid this place was a total disappointment. There’s no English menu and translating the menu won’t give you much of idea of what you’re going to get. The food was served pretty quickly but was basic and the portions were tiny. The only vegetables in the little 16.5 Euro noodle dish we got were cucumbers and radishes. It felt like a bad joke.
