Miam ! — Restaurant in Poitiers

Never come here. Absolutely a disaster. This is worse than the restaurants in Mogadishu. There is British food, and then there’s this. How this is worse than British food, I simply cannot comprehend. It is an achievement to be making food this bad. Bland. Soulless. Steak had the texture of “une gomme”, and tasted like water. Fries were reheated frozen slop. Never cook again, and I’m being serious. If there was an option to give negative stars on all aspects, I would. It’s a good thing they serve alcohol because it can drown out the sorrows that come from the food. -10/10. My disappointment is biblical.

PS, what restaurant styles their carpet floors in a stone-brick...

Lors de ma visite au Futuroscope, j'ai déjeuné au restaurant "Miam !". Le processus de commande était d'une fluidité impressionnante : en moins de 5 minutes, j'étais servi, sans la moindre attente. Le système en self-service est particulièrement bien organisé avec des "checkpoints" pour chaque étape : d'abord les boissons, puis le dessert et enfin le plat chaud.

Question tarif, les prix sont plus que raisonnables. Avec une vingtaine d'euros, on obtient une formule complète. La boisson et le dessert étaient excellents, mais le plat chaud... une véritable masterclass ! J'ai été particulièrement séduit par le cordon bleu maison revisité, roulé de façon originale. Jamais je n'avais goûté, ni même cuisiné un cordon bleu de cette manière malgré ma profession. L'instant où le fromage fondant s'échappe à la coupe reste mémorable.

Mais ce qui fait réellement la différence, c'est le personnel. Un grand coup de chapeau à l'homme en charge des garnitures du plat chaud : son sourire radieux, sa joie de vivre contagieuse et ses petites blagues ont véritablement égayé mon repas. De plus, le choix offert entre haricots verts, frites classiques et frites de patate douce, avec la possibilité de mixer deux garnitures, est un véritable plus.

La cerise sur le gâteau ? Le libre choix de sa table, que ce soit près de la fenêtre, dans l'une des quatre salles intimistes, ou même en terrasse si l'envie nous prend. Sans oublier les sauces, les assaisonnements et l'eau à disposition en libre-service. Ce repas a été un régal du début à la fin. Un immense BRAVO à cette équipe qui, malgré l'affluence quotidienne, conserve un enthousiasme et un sourire inaltérables. Service was fast, the restaurant was clean, and the athmosphere was good. The food was not worthy of a French restaurant, however. The food tastes ok but the meat seemed of very low quality and the one salad we ordered was also quite bland (mostly simple iceberg-type green leafs from a bag).
