*THIS REVIEW IS FOR MY STRUGGLING VEGANS OUT THERE.
Me and my husband came here because it's one of the few places I was able to find that offer a vegan option for breakfast that isn't just a prayer and a breath of air. The 1 vegan option is advertised on the menu. It is the "Sucre Dolce", which is a waffle with mashed avocado, roasted tomatoes, pomegranate seed, and cheese. I thought it would be just removing the cheese to make it vegan, but they replace the nice waffle with thin toast, remove the cheese, and now its 20euro avocado toast with added veggie bacon, with a side of bland rocket, which is impossible to eat with a fork. I dont know, it was tasty, don't get me wrong, but I was expecting something better, especially when I compared the other lovely plates of food coming out to mine.
If you’re sitting outside on a sunny day, don't expect any shade, but DO expect to be harassed by hungry wasps.
The fresh juices they offer are really good, and the mimosas are a good alternative to eating if you dont want expensive toast (iykyk). It's a good option if you are a mixed group of herbivores and carnivores. Lots of options if you are vegetarian, BTW.
It's a bit cramped and always busy, but that's not unique to this establishment.
Our server was so nice, and was very accommodating to the table next to us when they asked to go inside to get away from the civil war of wasps that was taking place on their table.
My husband said that his food was really good, and enjoyed the...
Read moreVery confusing experience as non-locals. The sign at the entrance indicates “please wait to be seated,” but what isn’t explained anywhere is that the restaurant works on set sittings rather than seating people as tables free up.
The staff never clearly communicated this, even when we were told it would be a 45-minute wait, with empty tables visible outside. Only later did we realise the wait was for the next sitting. When we were finally seated, it still wasn’t explained, and after waiting 10 minutes and asking for menus we were told orders couldn’t be taken until the sitting started.
Once menus arrived, we found out you must order from two fixed offerings (set price for two drinks, a savoury dish, and a sweet dish). Again, this would have been useful to know at the start. We even saw other customers come in off the street just as confused about why they couldn’t take empty tables.
Clear communication of the concept from staff would make a huge difference in the customer experience.
The food itself was average. One of our coffees never arrived, and while we were still eating our savoury dishes, our sweet dishes were brought out, while this itself is not an issue, we had to try and make it fit onto a table too small to hold everything.
Overall, the lack of communication, confusing system, and disorganised service made for a frustrating and...
Read moreThe food is very, very good! But the organization on the other hand really needs a checkup. We got there 10 minutes earlier from our reservation and there was a crowd at the door. A few people waiting with their phones and others just standing there in front. Apparently they let the shift turn to seat all the tables at once, so when the place got emptied and it was time of the new reservations to come in you can imagine the chaos. People trying to get to the guy at the door, no lines, no orientation, just fight to be next. I managed to speak to him while the wife waited far behind, he checked our reservation and pointed to our table. Once inside we could notice a bunch of people feeling the same way. We ordered our breakfast and waited. You don’t have to be in the service business to know that if you are going to sit everyone at the same time, the orders will also pack up the kitchen. So of course there was plenty of time for us to wait until we got our dishes. My coffee also arrived when I was already in the middle of the second dish. You could see the frustration not only on people’s faces but in the staff, the poor guy was walking up from one table to another saying sorry for the delay. It’s pretty good food but...
