Séoul to Go — Restaurant in Rennes

This was my very first time trying Korean food, and I couldn’t have picked a better place. The moment I stepped inside, I felt welcomed not just as a customer, but as a guest. Their warmth and attentiveness, made me feel at home. I didn’t want to leave—honestly, I could’ve stayed there forever. The vibe, the energy, the atmosphere... everything was just right.

I ordered Korean fried chicken, tteokbokki, and kimchi—and each dish was a revelation. The flavors were rich, comforting, and clearly made with love. While I expected the intense spiciness of traditional Korean food, the dishes were a little milder—likely adapted for the local (French) palate—but they still held the heart of Korean cuisine. Authentic, satisfying, and absolutely delicious.

And the name? Seoul To Go couldn’t be more perfect. But for me, it was more than just Seoul—it was soul to go. A piece of warmth and joy I could carry with me long after I left.

To top it all off, right next to the restaurant is a quiet neighborhood with a charming little alley beside a stream. After my meal, I wandered over, sat by the water, and just let it all sink in. It was the perfect ending to a perfect visit.

Very clean, very good presentation Very fresh quality food, their Kimbap is e specially delightful, with different textures and you can tell that the veggies are fresh.

We tried both the spicy and non-spicy fried chicken, coming from a country who love their fried stuff done right, this is so-so, but way better than french KFC, for sure.

The spicy chicken is not spicy at all, i guess to make it palatable to the French tongue.

I have eaten Korean food a LOT in the past and and this place is a quite helpful to soothe the cravings, when you are too lazy to cook yourself.

Avant de poursuivre sur tous les points négatifs qui me poussent à ne plus y revenir, sachez que leur kimbap est délicieux !

«C’est un nouveau concept » nous a ont dit à l’accueil ... De mon côté, je vous recommande de fuir où nous avons enchainé les déceptions ...

1. Choisir des barquettes de repas préparées à l’avance et mises dans un frigo ... C’est de la restauration rapide ou un supermarché ??

2. La salle est stérile et vous invite à manger pour rapidement repartir... Manger face au mur ou à la vitre donnant sur la rue ... Quel choix ...

3. Le summum de la blague : sur le menu, il est indiqué « kimbap + ramen » pour un menu. Nous choisissons cette formule et là, on nous invite à choisir notre paquet de ramen INDUSTRIELLES en boîte (qu’on peut trouver dans les magasins asiatiques) car dans cette période, la cuisson de ce produit est infernal !?! Payer ce prix là pour ces ingrédients chimiques vendus à prix d’or ici !?!

4. C’est un désastre écologique, zéro déchet !!! Couverts en plastique, gobelets en plastique pour compléter les barquettes et les boîtes de ramen en plastique !!

5. On nous invite à nous asseoir pour attendre l’eau mise à chauffer pour les ramen et les verser (nous mêmes tant qu’on y est) dessus ... Et à réchauffer nos barquettes dans le micro-ondes ...

Je résume : on choisit nous mêmes, on réchauffe et on met l’eau nous mêmes... Où sont le service et les produits qui justifient ces prix élevés...
