Saveurs Afghanes — Restaurant in Rennes

We flew from Germany to Rennes for New Year's and, after a lovely walk around the city, we found a cozy Afghan restaurant not far from the city center. The place was beautifully decorated, and while we waited for our food, we took the opportunity to explore the restaurant and learn more about Afghan culture.

The food arrived within 10-15 minutes, and I must say, our group was more than satisfied. It was absolutely delicious! We ordered a portion of Mantu and two servings of rice. The dishes were perfectly seasoned, visually appealing, and incredibly tasty. For dessert, we enjoyed ice cream and a traditional Afghan dessert accompanied by tea.

The owner was very attentive and friendly. We even had a nice chat with him, and he gave us great tips for our trip to Rennes.

A friend of our recommended this restaurant to us and we’re so glad we vosited. We enjoyed a delicious dinner here for two. We shared Chapli Kabob for entree, which was very flavorful. For plates we enjoyed Naranji and Degusation (a very tasty trio sampler with two kinds of rice) everything was seasoned well and tasty. The rice was all cooked to perfection as well. The owner recommended a great Moroccan wine. We finished with dessert of Baklava and Alwa Zarfak — the baklava was a wonderful combination of pistachio, sweets, with a bit of rose water A+ Luckily we live nearby and can’t wait to go back. Amazing restaurant would recommend to anyone visiting Rennes, not too far walk from center and also a bus stop 1 minute walk away.

Had a lot of great food in Rennes but this place stands out. Staff speak very good English and are friendly and attentive. I managed to get a table for 1 without a reservation but was very busy so if in a group probably worth booking in advance. I had the DEGUSTATION Degustation / Tasting main and loved it, especially good if you haven't had much Afgan food before.
