Tucked away in the maritime charm of Rochefort, I discovered a culinary treasure chest at Oliver’s Cook—and inside it, a steaming pot of Marennes mussels fit for Poseidon himself.

I ordered "La Marinière"—which sounds like a naval commander but turned out to be something far more delicious. A generous heap of mussels bathed in white wine, garlic, and shallots arrived, each shell opening up like a little ocean secret, whispering “bon appétit.”

The golden fries, crisped to perfection, stood proudly like soldiers beside a citadel of shellfish. I may or may not have used one as a spoon (don’t judge—these were divine juices worth chasing).

Between the sea breeze, the salty-fresh flavor, and the clinking of cutlery and sailboats, I’m convinced this meal came with a light sprinkle of maritime magic. The staff? Friendly as a lighthouse keeper with a fresh pot of tea.

Coinciding with the date of my first year of travel to Europe, i was looking for a place to relax a cup of days. Only fate could take me to a place so in line with my tastes, such as: nice place to stay , very small port, right front to sailsboats, kindless from the staff who works there, and exellent food, at first their mussels, about the price very low to be in France. Dont expexct a luxury service, they only serve at the counter , and after eat you should order your table

Google should reccommend it as the first 10 most important and historic place to visit...

Surement l’une des meilleurs découvertes que nous avons fait dans la ville ce jour-là. Une petite Cuisine à ciel ouvert sur le port de Rochefort, les tarifs sont très abordables.

Nous avons eu un menu complet pour moins de 20 € par personne, les produits sont frais, fait maison et cuisinés.

Nous avons pris des moules marinières pour 11 € Frites 2.50€ et dessert 6€

Le retrait des plats s’effectuent directement au comptoir lorsque votre biper sonne. Des tables pour manger sont disponibles uniquement en extérieur.

Ce jour-là, nous avons dû partir précipitamment avant de manger notre dessert, car ma compagne ne se sentait pas bien étant enceinte. Le responsable, très sympa, nous a préparé les desserts que nous avons emporté dans des contenants adaptés.

L’équipe est très bien organisé, chacun sait ce qu’il doit faire, très peu d’attente, serviable et très poli.
