Hôtel Restaurant Le Bardière — Restaurant in Rodez

This review is for the restaurant as we didn’t stay at the hotel. If you’re going during the summer make sure you leave about 10-15 minutes to look for parking as it’s a historic village and parking places are hard to come by. We sat out on the terrace in August, it was a sunny day and since Laguiole is pretty high on the Aubrac plateau, it was the perfect temperature. There’s not a view from the terrace, also dogs are allowed so our Goldendoodle joined us. I had the burrata mousse accompanied by beet puree, peas, chick peas and crispy chips which was divine, a nice balance between sweet, savory and crunchy. Then I had the steak with puréed carrots for my main dish, all of it was great. The dessert was beautifully presented, a combination of fresh apricots, rice pudding, whipped cream, crispy sweet sesame brittle and red currant sorbet. My husband had the cheese plate which included Laguiole local cheese as well as local sheep cheeses. It looked delicious, but I was too full to try anything else. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a gourmet or gastronomical experience...

Il ne faisait déjà pas bien beau mais le service a fini de nous refroidir ! La bouteille de vin juste posée sur la table, pas un sourire et des réponses à nos questions à peine esquissées, des entrées et desserts visiblement sortis du frigo compte tenu de leur température et de la vitesse à laquelle nous avons été servi... Tout cela fait oublier ce qui pourrait éventuellement apparaitre comme positif. La seule erreur durant notre semaine dans la région... NB Nous étions douze personnes au maximum lors de ce service et, n'étant pas sûrs de l'horaire d'ouverture, nous sommes passés vers 19H00 pour vérifier. sans voir d'autre indication qu'une indication comme quoi le restaurant était complet ??? De fait, pour ne par rester au froid et sous la pluie, nous sommes allés prendre un apéritif au café voisin.
