POPPY'S BURGER — Restaurant in Rouen

I got excited to go have a taste of home. But I was a little disappointed, I think the effort is there. But lacks finess. The fish its self was tasty. But I was really disappointed in the mush peas and vinegar. It seemed watered down and I realllllly want to come back with a mushy pea recipe.

Nothing to do with the food but I found eating indoors a little strange when you have 3/4 delivery bikers standing round waiting for orders. Which I know shouldn't be a problem but it felt weird.

I would return if friends wanted to go, but wouldn't go out my way to return. Sorry. But that doesn't mean I don't see why others wouldn't love it.

Franchement, je suis un habitué des Fish and Chips avec mes innombrables séjours en Angleterre et en Irlande. J'admets que le poisson était correctement cuit, pas trop ni trop peu et les pommes frites étaient acceptables, MAIS j'estime que le rapport qualité/prix est mauvais. Le plat est facturé 9,90 € et la boisson au moins 2 €, même le petit pot de mayonnaise est compté 0,50 €. Il n'y a pas de formule. Le poisson était petit, on aurait dit qu'ils l'avaient coupé en deux sur la longueur et la demie tranche de citron était tellement fine que l'on aurait pu regarder à travers. Il n'y pas de petit profit. ;) À propos : sur la carte était marquée que tout est frais et fait maison. La mayonnaise était vraiment fraîche et faite maison ? En tout cas, elle avait le même goût et la même texture que la mayonnaise industrielle. Quant à l'ambiance : on est assis sur des bancs faits de planches en bois et on est obligé d'aller chercher son plat (ce qui n'est pas inhabituel pour un Fish & Chips en Angleterre ou en Irlande, à part que le tarif n'est pas le même proportionnellement à une pizzeria par exemple). Lorsque j'y étais, il n'y avait personne et le caissier me l'a apporté à la table. On mange dans des cartons sur un plateau ce qui ressemble étrangement à l'ambiance Kébab sauf que le tarif n'est pas le même. As a fish lover I found this place amazing. Tried the student combo which was 10 euros. It is little expensive. If they reduce prices I would go everyday. The taste was wonderful of both fish and chips. They serve the order really quick so if you are in a hurry and need to have quick bite this is the right place.
