Le Reflet des Iles — Restaurant in Saint-Denis

Michel, my taxidriver, recommended this restaurant. Attempts to make a reservation were unsuccessful. The system kept telling me that something was not entered correctly, but not what. Maybe only part of the system was updated after the restrictions of wearing a mask was lifted? I tried uploading my vaccine pass, and I tried without, receiving the same error message.

A quick walk-in in the morning solved the reservation problem. Luckily, as in the evening the restaurant was packed, some waiting quite a long time to eat. The restaurant also does quite a bit of take-out business.

My waitress had I good sense of humor, was very friendly and efficient as well as speaking flawless English. The sampler plate of starters offered a nice variety of what is on offer. The main course of camarones in a pot was very good and was served with rice, beans, and cucumber salad. I asked for the spicy version and really enjoyed myself (unfortunately the camarones weren't very photogenic.) Iceream with honey and rhum finished a really nice meal.

Absolutely recommended for sampling local food and a lively...

Stumbled across this restaurant only because I could smell the aroma’s of the food from the street. We walked in without a reservation and the gave us a table. The waitress was excellent our food superb, we chose from the daily specials and we couldn’t fault the food or the service. Not long after we were seated the restaurant started to fill and by the time we left there were no tables. I had the grilled giant prawns and my partner had the 3 assorted grilled/smoked meats which were pork ribs, lamb chop and a skewed chicken. Goes to show, eat where the locals eat and you will never be...

Nous avons eu une mésaventure assez déconcertante avec le caissier du restaurant le 22 juillet dernier ... il s'est installé sur une table a côté de la notre (on pensait que c'etait un client) et a passé trankilou son appel visio.... parlait et rigolait super fort au point ou on avait du mal a s'entendre entre nous ... nous avons trouvé vraiment bizarre que les serveurs ne lui disent rien au vu de son comportement plus que gênant et dérangeant... mais nous avons compris par la suite que c'est leur chef!!! Tout simplement honteux pour un responsable du restaurant ! Il s'est même permis de nous faire une réflexion après son appel visio qui a duré 20 minutes du genre "il est chez lui il fait ce qu'il veut". Par ailleurs avant cette péripétie la cuisine est bonne mais pas exceptionnelle et l'accueil des serveurs très sympa. Malgré cela je n'ai plus envie de manger dans ce resto! Il y a des endroits bcp plus accueillants et avec une cuisine aussi bonne voire meilleure et une ambiance au top.

Suite a la réaction du propriétaire : je ne pense pas vous avoir insulté... je n'ai fait que raconter notre soirée... nous étions 4 et bizarrement nous avons tous les 4 le même vécu et ressenti.... vous avez le droit de prendre votre pause peu importe l'heure mais dans le respect de vos clients ca serait encore mieux.... en effet je connaissais votre réputation de personne plutôt discrète... imaginez notre surprise 😲 Mon commentaire n'était pas voué a ternir votre image mais juste permettre de vous améliorer dans le cas ou vous vous remettez un peu en question par moment... ce qui ne...
