Chay's Thai restaurant — Restaurant in Saint Martin (France)

Mostly of the food was good but truly expensive if you compare with another restaurant (located at Maho in front of a canadian university) for the same quality of food maybe better. *Service was pretty bad. We called them in the phone to ask if the kitchen was still open and i didnt feel welcome and friendly. Worst when we were at the restaurant. The owner and his wife totally mediocre, only the grand mother take care of us well. *the restaurant setting is mediocre. *we wait longtime for the food but for me its ok but we wait 1 hours for the bill and when they bring the bill it was handwritten ; illegible. My Thai wife was really surprise to pay for 179 € ( around 220 $) (at the same time the wife muslim( i guess) who give us the bill start to be impatient and unpleasant leave fast the place with a car when we ask to double check the bill). The friendly grand mother come with a paper and a pen and check the bill with my wife, after 5 or 10 minutes to check the illegible bill my wife and the friendly grand mother correct the bill. They had overloaded 20 euros. It's the first time i review a restaurant but after a pretty busy day try to enjoy before the curview, i was on the bed of my hotel Grand Case Beach Hotel (very nice btw) and thinking how it was awful time in this restaurant. I ask my wife if she has the bill of the other thai restaurant located at Maho in front of the canadian university. To make a credible comparison Chay's Thai restaurant 2 people on the spotand half take away 7 courses, 2 sticky rice, 1 desert + 3 moshi + 1 beer + 1 coke + 1 industrial juice + 1 small water = 160 euros ( around 195 $) other thai restaurant at Maho (4 people) 7 courses, 1 thai rice, 4 corona beer, 6 glass of pink wine and 1 bottle of pink wine = 163 $ (around 133 euro)

Amazing food and service. Phad ka prao pla or poisson enjoyed by my fish-loving husband and we both loved the Yum Thai salad. Lastly, don’t leave without the chocolate cake and icecream dessert. Have eaten their food twice already and hope to return once more...
