We arrived 10 min earlier than our reservation supposed to be. We waited for 5 min in front of the restaurant waiting for somebody to come and ask us about our reservation. Because our table was still occupied, we were invited to the bar to get some drinks while waiting. At the bar we had a good experience with the bartender - nice talk and good service. Since we were invited at the bar nobody paid any attention to us. We felt that we were in their way. We waited for 45 min , we were not give anything from the house ( appetizers ) not even the menu to choose our food. After the long wait when we were finally invited to the table it was actually not an invite - I had to go after the person that told us that the table was ready because I did hear the message in the first time. As we arrived at our designated table we realized that it was next to a big table full of dirt from the customers that left. Another 5 minutes past without being taken care of. We felt that is was very disrespectful to be invited to a table next to an area that looked like wild pigs have eaten before and after 50 min of waiting and decided to leave. We felt not welcomed at this restaurant, overbooking is a real problem and attention to the customers needs a lot of improvement. Big tables are more important to them than 2 persons. A table of 4 was free for 45 min since the moment we came but couldn’t receive it as it was for 4 persons not 2. Food is probably...
Read more"update required" last visit 12/25/2024 No more cheese plate! Biggest disappointment. Second disappointment is the service. We were brought the wrong bottle of Champagne. The bottle was double the price as the one ordered and they waiter never presented the bottle to the pet that ordered it. I recorded the whole thing. The bottle was brought in the bucket, the foil was then cut off the wire was taken off and then the bottle was taken out of the bucket and presented briefly. The person that ordered the bottle was on the other side of me. So they never had a clear view of it. I had no idea what was ordered. Of course the person that ordered the bottle noticed once it was being served.
Once we brought it to their attention the waiter knew he messed up but the manager was the problem. He proceeded to tell us it was our fault. He was completely out of line in saying this. My video shows they didn't follow standard procedure. And was trying to save himself money instead of save face. We had to compromise and pay what he claimed was the price they paid for the bottle which was still double the price of the original bottle we order.
Food was still great but the service for this mistake was unacceptable.

Read moreMaison Mère completely exceeded our expectations and delivered a fantastic meal and experience during our recent trip. From the moment we arrived, the charming courtyard ambiance set the tone for a relaxed yet refined dining experience.
The Filet de Bœuf Hemingway au Poivre Noir was, without question, the highlight of the night. Perfectly cooked, beautifully seasoned, and complemented by a rich peppercorn cream sauce. That said, the Pork Belly from Cantal came in a close second. Crisped to perfection and paired with ultra-creamy mushroom polenta, it was indulgent and incredibly satisfying.
Service was warm, attentive, and well-paced, adding to the overall ease and enjoyment of the evening. The space itself is stylish yet cozy, with a mix of indoor and outdoor seating nestled beneath lush greenery and twinkling lights.
We wrapped up the meal with a delightful digestif, served on what looked like a vintage book, but was actually the portal for our check—such a charming final touch.
Maison Mère is a gem, and we’ll absolutely be recommending it to anyone visiting St. Martin. It’s the kind of place that manages to balance elevated cuisine with laid-back island elegance—an experience...
