One of many similar type of establishments in the main Central area of St Omer, nothing special, tons of chips to accompany you plat du choice, I had the mixed grill which consisted of 2 chipolata sized sausages which were very tasty, a small entrecote steak and 2 small pieces of chicken fillet (which were very dry), along with the ton of chips was a small side salad comprised of various lettuce leafs. As soon as we sat down I ordered a Ricard aperitif which never materialised, but we weren't charged for either so she obviously just forgot. We opted for the pichet of white wine which was fine just for quaffing but came in at 10 Euros. You'd think in France you could get a decent bottle of wine for that price, 2 days ago we stopped off at a supermarket and got a very palatable Bordeaux for 2.20, why such a mark-up in an average bar/bistro?
