Tucked right at the entrance of the old village of Beynac-et-Cazenac, we stumbled upon a true hidden gem of a restaurant an unassuming little spot set in a stunning stone house that instantly drew us in. • With room for about 10 people inside, the space is certainly intimate, and we were seated quite close to the other patrons. But thanks to our little corner table by the window, facing outward and surrounded by plants, it felt like we were in our own cozy little bubble. • The host greeted us with genuine warmth and made us feel completely welcome from the moment we walked in. The service was top-notch, attentive, friendly, and clearly passionate. • We ordered a warm goat cheese salad, thinking it would be a light meal, and a charcuterie board for one, featuring local cheeses, walnuts, and dried sausages from the region. We figured we’d share both and still have room for dessert. We were wrong… but happily so. • Both dishes arrived on beautiful wooden boards, and we truly ate with our eyes first. The portions were generous, the ingredients were fresh, flavors spot-on, and the combination of honey, goat cheese, and walnut was absolutely unforgettable. • We had expected something touristy and generic, but instead we found something authentic, intimate, and full of heart. While indoor seating is limited, there is a lovely patio that will be perfect in warmer weather. • Highly recommend if you are visiting Beynac-et-Cazenac. Just be ready for a...
Read moreI am repeating Andrew Wood's last week's review - word by word : " At first view, this seems to be a small cafe-like premises and you might walk away if you are seeking a good meal. That would be an error! The food is fantastic. Big planchas of charcuterie and cheese, brushcheta loaded with topping and extras, the tartare de bœuf and tartare de saumon are incredible. And the service and attitude of the personnel are excellent. Perhaps the best eating experience we had in the area. " Really splendid food, nice red wine and so welcoming service! And since a storm was coming and our car was down by the river, the owners were so kind to drive us down to our car! (Make sure to drive up the hill - there is a parking lot by the...
Read moreIn late April we had a memorable visit to Beynac, punctuated by our dinner at Tout La O. The restaurant space was intimate and welcoming, perfectly suited for adults with young children because of our hosts' hospitality. Gaelle and Luc are a phenomenal team, and from the moment we walked in we felt at home as they delivered exceptional service. Dishes arrived from the kitchen in short order and we were struck by how thoughtfully they had been prepared and plated - the boeuf tartare was a standout, and is quite literally the best I have ever had. In short, if you are in the region and have the opportunity, make a visit to Tout La...
