L'allegria — Restaurant in Sartène

Really disappointed with this restaurant which is in the centre of Porto vecchio and therefore very buzzy. Service was SO slow it became obvious they had forgotten our order. They then charged us for a starter we never received but to be fair they were apologetic and removed it from the bill when we told them. We ordered the squid and chorizo dish, a creamy pasta dish, a steak and a children's meal. My calamari chorizo stew, despite being hungry, I couldn't finish it tasted so bad. The squid was so soft it didn't taste like squid at all which unnerved me. The chorizo was more like a sausage. The creamy pasta was very bland and the pasta was a bit over cooked. The steak was a little tough and my daughters fried calamari was breaded in a way that felt processed from a packet. The fries weren't too bad that they came with at least. We also decided to have dinner at this place based on good reviews. But in fact the food is very ordinary, also the children's menu: pasta with meatballs were not tasty at all, we had to order French fries additionally. There was also drinking water with some kind of terrible taste. Something like that... surprised by such a number of...

This small eatery only has outside seating available, so it could get quite cold. The food is good, and has a good balance of salad to go with the meat. The daily special (grilled octopus) was the best dish I had tonight, and the grilled beef was a bit disappointing as it lacked seasoning and was a bit tough. The brioche & nutella dessert...
