Le Vig Vog — Restaurant in Sartène

A date night with my girlfriend to have some fancy cocktails - so far so good - this was my plan when we visited this place.

Since they do have a nice terrace with seaview I asked for a table there. The woman (obviously the owner of the restaurant) told us, that those tables are available only for guests who are having dinner as well. We weren’t hungry at all, but since I wanted a nice evening with my girlfriend I ordered drinks and Pizza for us. We got our drinks first and the pizza arrived a few minutes later. The woman (owner) then came to our table and told us, that pizza is not a proper dinner and we should leave the seafront table. (Note: At this time - there were still 5 empty tables free)

We were really in a good mood and willing to have a few drinks and spend a proper amount of money on their place + ordered food although we weren’t hungry at all.

But asking us then to leave the table and eat the pizza at their bistro, where 20 men were watching football is a shame and outrageous.

I don’t know if the food is good or bad because I left after 1 drink. The mature woman with extra short hair was actually quite rude. As I was only one person (my friends were taking a quick stroll before joining me) I sat at a table with 2 chairs but moved a cushion from a larger table as there was none on mine, please bear in mind I’m the only one there… well this was a major problem for her! They have candles on every table and a kitchen but according to Mrs Hostile they don’t have a light! No music , no atmospheres, no Prosecco so after 1 very ordinary glass of wine which is 9 euros I left and went to a much nicer bar where I listened to pleasant music and happy friendly staff served me with a smile and complimentary olives and matches & enjoyed a few glasses...

Just been here tonight, we just got here to the area so was looking for some nice food with nice atmosphere. They seem to have a nice view and can sit us down quickly. I ordered the Brochette de boeuf mariné which looked nice when served BUT The food came cold, some of the baby potatoes were raw, tomato tastes bad and the beef is very chewy despite it is medium rare (more like a rare when served). Service is below average. Pizza for my daughter wasn’t even cut to slices. Food was fast but it was disappointing. I had to share my daughter’s pizza.
