Alfred Burger — Restaurant in Torcy

We ended up here on a weekday in February after a day at Disneyland and we were quite happy with our visit. The decor was simple and not really my favourite, especially after a day of magic at Disney. Upon entry, we were greeted by two self ordering kiosks which were easy to use for us as it had an English option.

We ordered the BBQ burger and the burger of the month which was an absolute masterpiece with the combination of onion rings, reblochon cheese, delicious beef and the perfect bun. We also got the fries with reblochon cheese. I had never tried this cheese before, perhaps unknowingly during my previous trip to France, but it's quite flavourful and very different from what I had expected. I wasn't a fan of the cheese on the fries but it was fantastic inside my burger. The fries were good but I personally would not order it with the reblochon again.

If your staying in Serris or visiting (one train station from Disneyland which pops you out almost right across the street), go and try this place out if you have tastebuds and dislike overpriced food in the shape of a mouse. My partner ordered a beyond burger as he is vegetarian and has been for over 15 years. He was presented his burger, started eating and realised the patty was actually beef. When he approached the servers, they didn’t understand the mistake they had made. They changed the burger to beyond meat but also then offered him chicken nuggets to accompany his meal, even after he explained to them he was vegetarian. The staff didn’t seem too upset that they had served meat to a full time vegetarian and when the server was on the phone to his superior he gave the essence of not really caring. After this experience I doubt we would come back here again. The lack of courtesy towards feeding a vegetarian meat was shocking and the customer service...

Alfred Burger, un établissement qu'on ne présente plus! Premier sur TripAdvisor pour ses burgers de qualité, ce restaurant niché près du cinéma et non loin de la gare est un incontournable pour un repas copieux et délicieux. Ayant récemment rouvert ses portes après des travaux qui se sont fait attendre, j'étais impatient d'y retourner pour déguster un menu composé d'un classique et de nuggets en supplément.

Pour ce qui est de la nourriture, vous en aurez pour votre argent; les frites sont tout simplement très bonnes, bien salées et ont un côté unique par rapport aux multiples resto-burgers de banlieue. Pareil pour les nuggets, les portions sont assez généreuses et on se retrouve avec un produit de qualité, la panure est craquante à souhait et le poulet est au-delà de ce qu'on pourrait attendre d'une enseigne mettant en avant ses burgers autant que le fait Alfred. Ces derniers sont par ailleurs tout bonnement aussi incroyables que l'on dit, et calent bien.

Cependant, les travaux ont emporté le charme qu'avait la salle de restauration, et c'est fort dommage. Nous sommes passés d'une ambiance industrio-cozy-chill, avec des canapés, des chaises et des tables rétros mais charmantes, et une décoration très expressive, à un vide industriel gris et fade, délavé de toute touche personnelle qui rendait une soirée à Alfred si sympathique. Le cadre est tout bonnement déprimant, et l'impression d'entrer dans une dark kitchen est assez étrange. Le contraste avec cette décoration minimaliste est accentué avec la playlist rock qui passe sur les hauts parleurs, seule trace de ce que fut ce petit restaurant de quartier. Je souhaite toutefois relever l'effort mis dans cette nouvelle décoration, avec des tables design, un éclairage très stylé et un nouveau logo qui assume la direction prise.

Bref, un excellent repas à emporter, je ne recommanderais d'y manger sur place que s'il y a des places en terrasse. ଘ(੭ˊᵕˋ)੭* ੈ✩‧₊˚
