Pinchomania — Restaurant in Toulon

Absolutely surprised why this establishment has good reviews. That was my first time when I went to a place feeling hungry and had NO food after 50 minutes waiting! I can understand the fact that the owner is by his own, service can be slower. We literally were waiting till all other guests finish their food, pay and go JUST TO GET THE MENU! We were in a hurry , didn’t know it’ll take that long. Once we said it to the owner, you think he helped us and finally let us order? No way! Instead, he started saying jokes in a sarcastic manner about us being in a hurry and laughing about it with other guests and just random people passing by! Well, I came there to eat but not to have clown show.

Avoid if you prefer not to wait your food 1 hour+ and without sarcastic jokes being...

Right. Came across this place searching on Google for somewhere for supper and thank GOD we found it. We went for the mixed cured meats to start and as they were all good, the chorizo was like something I’d never tasted before. The hunks of fat melted with the meat and the tomato bread was a brilliant accompaniment. Then came the main course- we went for the steak and lamb, the lamb was GOOD but the steak has to be the best of the trip (we’ve been travelling around France for the last ten days having everything from côté de bœuf to rib eye to plain old steak tartare), it melted in your mouth and I could’ve eaten four of them if I didn’t care about the calorie count!- damn those calories!!! Au vu des autres avis globalement très positifs ... nous avons dû tomber "le" mauvais jour !!! Oui nous avions réservé à 13H00 et nous sommes arrivés à 13H15, mon fils étant en fauteuil roulant, il y a parfois des difficultés imprévues ... Mais ça n'a pas plu du tout et nous nous sommes fait engueuler ... "Mais vous êtes terriblement en retard, heureusement que je n'ai pas préparé la paella pour 13H00 ... elle aurait été foutue ... bon bah maintenant il va falloir attendre au moins 20 minutes ..." et nous avons été servis à 15H40, soit 1H30 après notre arrivée, après une série de scènettes digne d'une pièce de boulevard : des verres mais aucune prise de commande pour les boissons, attente interminable, je me risque dans le restaurant et me fais instantanément jeter sans pouvoir dire un mot, le plat fini par arriver mais pas d'assiettes, les assiettes apparaissent mais pas les couverts, on aimerait bien boire un autre verre mais "l'homme" a disparu, trop dangereux de se risquer à nouveau dans son antre ... alors, pour changer, nous attendons ... Bref, nous sommes restés de 13H15 à 16H00, en déménageant 3 fois car je ne voulais pas de soleil mais sa connaissance de la "terrasse" mériterait un stage de remise à niveau ou le déplacement d'un parasol ce qui semblait titanesque ... Je n'ai pas osé proposer de le faire moi-même ... les caractériels sont capables du pire !!! Bref, une paella décevante, une atmosphère déplaisante et même plus envie de dessert pour mon fils qui est pourtant le roi...
