El Majless — Restaurant in Troyes

Simply one of the most enjoyable meals we have had in a long time.

We had the tabouleh salad, couscous with lamb sausage, and the kafteji.

Each dish was filled with bright flavours. The freshness, the depth, and the complexity were all amazing. It truly was a treat of a meal. A wonderful dinner in Troyes on a stopover back to London. We originally chose here because of the reviews and that it was one of a few open on a Sunday but I can’t reinforce enough that the food was absolutely delicious and well worth a visit without Sunday in mind! La décoration est vraiment réussie, très typique et en parfait accord avec l’ambiance tunisienne et maghrébine, ce qui rend le cadre chaleureux et agréable. Le service est également sympathique et l’ambiance conviviale.

En revanche, nous avons été très déçus par la cuisine. Les plats manquaient de fraîcheur et de saveur, le rapport qualité-prix n’était pas au rendez-vous, et plusieurs personnes de notre groupe ont été malades après le repas (maux de ventre, vomissements…).

Un œuf a même été servi cru alors que nous avions demandé qu’il soit bien cuit, et dans les frites nous avons retrouvé un morceau de plastique provenant d’un sachet de pommes de terre, ce qui soulève de réelles inquiétudes sur l’hygiène et la qualité de l’huile utilisée.

C’est dommage car la décoration et l’ambiance méritent vraiment d’être mises en valeur par une cuisine à la hauteur, avec des produits frais, bien travaillés et conformes aux règles d’hygiène.

Pour l’instant, je déconseille ce restaurant, en espérant qu’il pourra améliorer rapidement la qualité de ses plats afin d’être à la hauteur de son cadre et de...
