recently had the pleasure of dining at La Storia, located within the magnificent Royal Hainaut Spa Hotel in Valenciennes, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were met with a warm and inviting atmosphere that set the tone for the entire evening.

While the food was absolutely exquisite — each dish meticulously prepared and bursting with flavour — it was the impeccable service that truly elevated our experience. I must give special recognition to Anthony, our waiter for the evening, whose professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine warmth transformed what was already a lovely dinner into something extraordinary.

Anthony didn’t just serve us, he anticipated our every need, all while adding a personal touch that made us feel not just cared for, but valued as guests. His attentiveness was matched only by his ability to create a relaxed yet sophisticated dining experience. It was clear that he is deeply passionate about what he does, and it absolutely shows in every interaction.

This kind of service is rare and deserves to be celebrated. Thanks to Anthony and the entire team at La Storia, we had an evening that far surpassed our expectations. It’s not often that a restaurant manages to excel in both the culinary and service aspects, but La Storia achieves this effortlessly.

Really disappointed with the food and service. We were staying at the hotel and had booked to eat at this restaurant. When we turned up the booking wasn’t on their system. When we showed them the booking confirmation they seated us eventually but we were made to feel quite unwelcome despite there being lots of tables still available. It was like we were an inconvenience. Overall the service was very uncaring and unpersonable. The carpaccio was nice, the carbonara very average and the tagliatelle with gambas and lemon cream was so sour it was essentially inedible.
