Colala — Restaurant in Baden-Baden

In short: The rice had a stone in it that broke my tooth. There was not even an apology involved, the owners asked me to pay, and overall, they were the rudest people I’ve met.

I had the worst dining experience of my life at this restaurant. I broke my tooth from a stone in the rice and very calmly let the owners know, making sure that no other customer hears it.

One of the owners (an Asian lady) asked another customer if he spoke English. He says no. She literally laughed, saying that I broke my tooth. (I still don’t understand what was funny about this.)

I did not even receive an apology, and here is verbatim what I heard back (and she was still laughing):

“The food is normal, everyone is eating it.” “You just had meat and vegetables. How can there be a stone in this?” (I show the remaining pieces of rice on the plate) “If it is from the stone, where is it?” (I think I swallowed it) “Maybe there is a problem with your tooth.” “If the rice caused this, you should have thought about it before eating it.”

At this point, 2 very kind German ladies are helping me communicate, and they also seemed to be in disbelief as to how poorly the situation was being handled. After a while, one of the German ladies told one of the owners (an Asian lady) (without me requesting) that I should at least not pay for the food. She goes: “No! She will pay for it! She almost finished the whole plate. She has to call the police if she’s not paying.” I tell her to call the police if that’s what she wants and that I will not pay for anything, since as a lawyer I know that it is my right to even ask for my dental expenses to be covered, which I won’t bother doing. The other very rude owner, an Asian man literally “shoo”ed me by exaggerated arm movements, I guess because the argument was catching other customers' attention. The lady says, "You should at least pay for the water.” I said I won’t, then they somehow agreed. I left.

Aside from the stone, the food tasted mediocre. It was not hot, and there was too much sauce involved. But my experience here showed me that if you have the slightest problem here, you will be gaslit in the rudest...

Vorab haben wir telefonisch einen Tisch für zwei Personen reserviert. Aktuell verfügt das Restaurant über keine HP, da diese "überarbeitet" wird.

Das Colala Sushi Grill Wok, liegt im Außenbereich des Einkaufszentrums vom dortigen "Cite".

Wer mit dem Auto anreist, kann im dortigen "Cite-Parkhaus" kostenlos bis 24:00 Uhr parken.

Wer mit den öffentlichen anreist, muss Haltestelle " Shopping Cite" aussteigen und Buslinie 205 benutzen. Das Restaurant liegt dann vor dem Haupteingang für Fußgänger auf der rechten Seite.

Bewertung unser Besuch: Nach unserem Eintritt wurden wir zwar begrüßt, allerdings nicht gefragt, ob wir reserviert hatten und das Personal uns Zeichen gab, dass wir uns an den "inneren Tischplätzen" setzen können. Erst als ich das Personal darauf hingewiesen habe, dass wir reserviert haben, wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass wir uns an die fenstergrenzenden Tischplätze setzen können.

Bei der Getränkeaufnahme, wurden wir nicht gefragt, ob wir Buffet essen wollen, oder laut Speisekarte.

Spezi 0,4 l für 3,80 € Fanta 0,4 l für 3,80 € Abendbuffet für 21,90 € SMS - Short Message Sweet Rotwein (Qualitätswein lieblich) 0,1 l für 2,50 € hier wurde mir der falsche Wein gebracht, habe dies am Geschmack bemerkt, da dieser nicht lieblich war Collection "O" Spätburgunder Rotwein, feinherb Espresso für 2,50 € Pflaumenwein 5 cl für 3,50 € Rechnung 3,00 € !! das Behältnis war ohne Eichstrich, was in diesem Fall verpflichtend ist!

Essen soweit geschmackvoll - Buffet für jeden etwas dabei - die Aufbauten des Buffets sind nicht ganz stimmig, aufgrund der räumlichen Gegebenheiten, sodass man teilweise die Eis-Truhe für den Nachtisch, mit samt des Suppentopfes an einem Platz hat und man erst einmal herumschauen muss, um die Punkte abzulaufen. Saucen für den mongolischen Grill, was man auf den Teller dazustellt, findet man nicht beim aufgebauten Buffet, sondern, direkt am Grill selbst.

Während des gesamten Aufenthaltes, ist uns beiden aufgefallen, dass das Personal ohne jegliche Gesichtsregung war, sodass man als Gast den Eindruck bekommen hat, dass man nicht ganz erwünscht ist. Das Personal sollte zukünftig freundlicher sein und einen entsprechenden Gesichtsausdruck auflegen, da dies auch Zeichen eines Respektes gegenüber dem...

This Chinese buffet is on of the best I have experienced. The variety of food available is amazing. Not only that but the quality of food is also great, most of it really fresh made and really tasty. The place is really large and there should not be a problem finding a table. The only negative I've had was with the service. The person serving our table was not courteous even after getting a really good tip. It made me regret giving a tip which is usually not required in Europe anyway.
