We got married at this location in Bamberg. The location, the decor, the catering, and the staff all met the highest standard.
The location is absolutely beautiful. We had our wedding ceremony in one room and our party in the other. The ceremony room is intimate with soft lighting and smaller dimensions, and the wall behind the "altar" is full of windows with an outlook to the river and forest. The room for the party had two walls full of windows looking over the river and trees, allowing lots of natural light to enter the room during the day. At night, the windows were perfect so that we could open them and let a cool breeze come through the dance floor. The permanent colors and decor of the building are all very elegant and romantic, and the added decor for our wedding matched our theme and desires perfectly. Mela (one of the owners) did an amazing job turning my scattered ideas into one cohesive plan and bringing our dreams to life. Our guests continuously complemented the location, especially the river backdrop.
The catering was also better than we could have ever hoped for. Mela and Elem (the coordinator) worked closely with us to create a menu that we would enjoy. They were patient with and considerate of all our questions, ideas, and requests regarding allergies and intolerances. From the soup to the main buffet to the hot chocolate bar, everything was incredibly delicious. Our guests were very impressed with the high quality and rich flavors.
I cannot express enough how this team went above and beyond to make my dreams come true. In particular, Mela, Elem, and Kaia (a server) put in 110% effort every step of the way and we are so incredibly grateful for them, their skills, their advice/recommendations, their kindness, and their hard work. If you are looking for a venue for a wedding (or any event, really), I promise you will not be disappointed in...

I visited Bootshaus on a warm weekday evening for dinner. There were 2 vegetarian main options I chose the "Mediterranean Schafskäse in Folie" with tomato, pepper, olives, onion and a baguette - €11.90.
It came wrapped in the foil with half the plate full of lettuce (which was not even on the menu card), I opened the foil to find less than half a diced tomato, 1 slither of onion, 1 thin pepper and 4 olives on top of the wet cheese cube. Sadly this isn't an exaggeration. Despite being advertised as a main the portion was more like from the Kids menu.
I tried to not cause a problem and just eat it despite my disappointment but the cheese was very sour and with almost no vegetables it was just unpleasant. We raised the issue with the older waiter, that it wasn't what was described on the card and that the portion was small for the price. He was totally unsympathetic and walked off in the middle of the conversation saying "What do you except me to do about it?"
I tried again to eat it, spoke to another waiter who said he would speak to the kitchen and offered a coffee as compensation. Nothing happened, 20 minutes later we needed to leave and spoke to him again, he was friendly and understood the problem but said he couldn't lower the price and could only offer 2 free beers which we didnt really have time to drink.
So 12 euros for some soggy cheese with salad and 3 slices of bread. I really expected better, the lovely riverside location and younger waiter are the only reason I am not giving 1 star. A nice place to sit and have a drink but I would not order...

Situated next to the river along footpath, this restaurant is a perfect place to stop and take in some of bambergs culture.
The beer here is probably some of the best Bamberg has to offer and I was very happy to be able to buy a nice Bamberg Krug, which keeps your beer nice and cool a little bit longer!
Here they keep krugs for serving in a fridge so when you get your delicious beer it is really cold and stays cold for a good while! If you want to try an amazing beer like no other I have treid you need to try the rauchbeir (smokedbeer)! It is a local speciality and the one here was by far my favorite, you get a sort of smokey bacon flavour in the dark malty liquid with gentle bubbles poping flavour around your mouth , every sip was enjoyed! And it wont be for every one but this beer was an experience I would recommend as it will be something...
