Cafe Rix — Restaurant in Berlin

Unfortunately very poor experience. We came for breakfast at 12:00 on Sunday. The location is nice, and outdoor area quiet and promising. However it took 20-25 minutes from when the waitresses saw us sitting down, for them to come clean the dirty dishes from the previous customers on our table. We asked for the menus 2 times during this time as well, with always receiving nodding and yes yes answers.

Finally after 25 min we got the menus, and after this it took another 20 minutes for someone to take our orders even after telling the waitresses several times if we can order. 25 min after we had ordered, another waiter who we had already talked to 3 times during this time, came to give us the menus, not recognising us as we had already ordered. (The restaurant had only less than 10 small groups of customers at the time).

Receiving the cold breakfast took another 30 min approximately. Breakfast was very basic and overpriced. They forgot multiple items from our order which we had to remind them 2 times. Pancakes were good, rest I wouldn't recommend.

Overall experience very disappointing. Waitresses did not provide even the most basic service, were slow, and forgot items from the orders. Breakfast experience which should have taken 45 minutes at most, ended up taking over 2 hours, from which only 25 min was eating. Breakfast was expensive for small amount which it was in the end....

Das Café Rix ist wohl ein Ort, der für eine Überraschung gut ist? Als ich am 09.12.2022 für unsere KlientInnen, meine Kolleginnen und mich telefonisch nach einem Lokal suchte, das uns ein Weihnachtsessen anbieten kann, fragte ich hier an und erhielt die Antwort: Ja, selbstverständlich! Wir bieten Gänsekeule mit Rotkohl an!" Das Angebot und die Location auf den Fotos überzeugte mich und uns, sodass ich für uns 14 Plätze reservierte. Um so überraschender war es dann, als wir am 13.12.2022 um 13:00 Uhr im Lokal eintrafen. ,,Gänsekeule mit Rotkohl haben wir nicht." Wäre ich alleine gewesen, wäre ich sofort gegangen. Doch mit unseren KlientInnen, im Alter zwischen 67 und 81 Jahren war das leider nicht möglich. Ich sah ihnen die Enttäuschung an. Dennoch entschieden wir uns zu bleiben, bestellten und warteten und warteten. Nach 80 weiteren Minuten fragte ich bei den Damen und Herren vom Service nach. Nach weiteren 15 Minuten trafen unsere Essen Langsam nacheinander ein. Viele von uns bestellten das Schnitzel , das mit hausgemachten Pomme Frites angeboten wurde. Das Kotelett bestand aus Fleischstückchen, eingebettet in eine Panadenpampe mit Pommes Frites. Diesen war unschwer anzusehen, dass sie aus der im Haus aufgemachten Plastiktüte kamen. Einer unserer Klienten bestellte Nudeln mit Muscheln und Scampis. Von drei Muscheln auf seinem Teller waren zwei verschlossen, was der Kellner kommentarlos hinnahm und, anders als ich offenbar nicht auf die Qualität der Muscheln zurückführte. Der Cappuccino war so dünn, dass ich diesen als "Wasser mit Geschmack" bezeichnen möchte. Die Location selbst versprühte einen maroden, schnuddeligen Charme und ließ unschwer erahnen, dass die besseren Tage weit zurück lagen. Das grossformatige Bild an der Wand, an der wir saßen löste sich an mehreren Stellen vom Rahmen ab. Ebenso ließ die Hygiene im Lokal auf der Skala nach unten keine Wünsche offen. Die Gästebetreuung machte einen sehr willkürlichen Eindruck, da die Tische nicht so zusammengestellt waren, dass alle bequem ihren Platz fanden. Meine Kollegin saß z.B. zwischen zwei Tischen. Zum Glück erkrankte niemand von unseren KlientInnen an dem Essen, das wir im Cafe Rix zu uns genommen hatten. Mein Fazit: Wer gerne "Pappe mit Panade isst, und Wasser mit Geschmack bei schnuddeligem Ambiente mag, dem sei diese Restauration empfohlen. Das und nur das wird hier im früheren Tanzsaal geboten. Für uns stellte sich das Lokal als Mogelpackung heraus. Insofern ist das Café Rix wohl eher für negative Überraschungen gut und wird von mir...

Really lovely old restaurant with pretty good food that is ruined by lackadaisical and poorly-organised staff. When we arrived the place was about 30% full, but tables were covered in dirty dishes and it took a good 15 minutes for anyone to come and take our order despite the fact that we had been actively waving at the five servers standing around. At the table behind us, they served everyone their meals except for one poor soul whose order was apparently forgotten, and they had all cleaned their plates by the time his meal finally came out. When our order finally came, the server dropped one of the bread rolls on the floor and never bothered to bring us another one. The place is lovely, the food is pretty good, and the prices are reasonable, so it's a real shame that the staff can't get their act together. Bad even by...
