I had a truly disappointing experience at this restaurant. The waiter was incredibly rude and disrespectful from the moment I arrived. Despite sitting right across from the main entrance and observing their actions, the waiter seemed more interested in her phone than attending to customers. She had to ask her colleague from the kitchen/bar to take my order, which consisted of water and a main course.
After a considerable wait, I saw the same waiter carrying my food just a couple of steps away from me. Instead of bringing it directly to my table, she loudly shouted to her colleagues, asking whose order it was. It was clear that I was the intended recipient, but she still called for someone from the kitchen to come and hand-deliver it to me. This unnecessary display of incompetence and disregard for basic service standards was unacceptable.
The chef seemed embarrassed when he realized that I was witnessing this farce. He reluctantly came over and brought me my order. I couldn't help but question whether the waiter was afraid of tarnishing her precious reputation by delivering the food herself, despite being just a few steps away. It was a shameless and rude display of behavior.
To add insult to injury, they didn't even apologize for that rudeness, then I paid €5 for a small water bottle. The prices were exorbitant, considering the poor quality of service and disrespectful attitude exhibited by the staff.
Furthermore, I witnessed the same waiter mocking and undermining a respectful Iranian family seated nearby. When the husband inquired about "zero beer," a well-known term for alcohol-free beer in Germany, she pretended not to understand and repeatedly questioned him in a condescending manner. It was an appalling display of unprofessionalism and disrespect.
Overall, the experience was both disgusting and disrespectful. I strongly advise avoiding this restaurant...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Cana Restaurant and Catering located by the side of the canal and I must say I loved everything about it. The food was absolutely amazing, and I couldn't get enough of it. The location of the restaurant is excellent - the view of the canal was stunning, and it really added to the ambiance of the dining experience. The indoor seating arrangement was also quite comfortable, and I felt right at home while enjoying my meal.
One thing that really stood out to me was the variety of meal options available. Cana Restaurant and Catering had an excellent selection of dishes to choose from, which catered to a wide range of dietary preferences. The rates were also quite reasonable, considering the location, ambiance, and taste of the food. It's rare to find a restaurant that ticks all the boxes, but this one certainly did.
Overall, I would highly recommend Cana Restaurant and Catering to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience. The location, ambiance, and taste of the food all come together to create an unforgettable experience that I'm sure you...
Read moreSo, so, so great! Amazing food, friendly, professional service, good prices, canal-side dining. One of my favorite restaurants in Berlin.
Cana is one of those places where I eat slowly, so I can taste the symphony of flavors. Their meats are well spiced, marinated, and slow cooked, so they’re SO soft and full of flavor.
Do yourself a favor and go to their All-You-Can-Eat Sunday Brunch Buffet, where you can sample everything. And get the mint-lemonade. It’s worth every cent.
Specifically about the food: My favorite is the Shish Taouk (chicken), because it’s so soft and well spiced, but all the lamb dishes are also great. I was pleasantly surprised to find the lamb empanadas, which were fluffy and not greasy. Also, they have the best hummus I’ve found in Berlin! It just tastes so fresh and homemade, and not too oily. I usually avoid falafel, because most places burn it, or make it too oily, or too dry, but Cana’s is perfect.
My photo is a little monochrome, from my first pass buffet choices, but their food is generally...
