We came by for quite a few glasses of wine (no food) near the closing time. Doesn't matter how it was, but: we asked for tap water with the wine bottle we ordered and were amazed that the greedy owner CHARGED us 2,50€ for each carafe of TAP water!!!
I've never seen something like that in my life. Not even in Berlin and definitely not in France where free water carafe is always given.
Tap water with wine is pretty standard and comes often automatically.
I see in another review that the owner says that everything costs money and also the dishes and washing costs money. Well, that's why you take much more for the wine than what it costs you!
He's not obliged to give us water by the German law, they say. But we're not obliged to tip.
This is a shame and the French waiter agreed and he was also ashamed of...
Read moreA strange place that left us with very mixed feelings. The restaurant is nice and feels like a French Bistro in Paris. The menu offers classic French cuisine but is way overpriced. Even for being at the heart of Prenzlauer Berg, this feels 50 % too expensive to what it offers. Leaving the prices aside the food also left us with mixed feelings. We had a very good budin noir but the pork chop was just a joke. Two people from our group had the pork at 25 EUR and the plate looked completely empty. It might have passed as a starter but not a main. Also the quality of the meat was questionable, it was almost only fat. The wine list is ok, but also way overpriced. All in all I won't go back there as there are soo much better...
Read moreI give two points, because food was good quality and atmosphere is alright. Surely wine was good price, if one is willing to pay for than 30 euro a bottle. The biggest problem was the service. We spend over 1.30 hour and mainly in waiting. During this time we were served our dishes in different times, meaning I had to eat while my partner was waiting. Waiting for coffee also took long enough to make it cold. During this time we witnessed several waiter scandals with the kitchen. Also one exploded sparkling wine bottle in client face and several tables around loosing their nerves on waiting. I am not going back, even if I believe the main problem was probably just the service and kitchen...
