Alex Hotel — Hotel in Berlin

Five of us stayed on a long weekend in Berlin. All stayed in single rooms of varying sizes on the ground and 1st floors. Can only speak for my own for the purposes of this review.||||Location is fine. Approx 15 mins walk from Alexanderplatz. Not a massive amount going on in the immediate area, but a short cab or tram (directly outside) and you're in busier areas.||||Staff were great, relaxed but efficient, and always helpful. 24 hr reception that catered for some late returns from the Berlin nightlife. Great area on the ground floor where the buffet breakfast was served until noon (helpful for those late returns!). Coffee available all day and a very pleasant area to sit whilst waiting for friends to surface!||||My room was on the ground floor (I think number 4). Very small but everything required was present. Looked over the terrace in the centre of the building, which unfortunately meant I got some noise in the mornings when it sounded like the washing was being put out to dry.||||Overall, a really pleasant stay that was made even better by the...

Attended for a 3 night stay over the weekend. |We arrived mid morning and were told at reception that rooms wernt ready until 2pm. Understandable so we left our cases in a back room.|The lady on reception looked like we were an inconvienience by turning up...|When we called back i was given a room on the 1st floor.|When i asked for the lifts...was told there were none.|Our room was up two flights of stairs...|There are upper floors ....|When we got to our room the door was open and a staff member was sitting at our desk on her mobile phone|The room overlooked an inner courtyard where kids played and were noisey.|The room was very basic and poor quality curtains furniture etc. The room did have a safety deposit box and got wifi cover.|The ensuite was large... but shower was spluttering..|The bed slanted.|Breakfast was included but very basic. Hot drinks are from a machine.. but you dont get english breakfast tea there.|This hotel is not suited for anyone with disabilities.|One good point was that it was opposite a tram stop.|I hope...

This hotel is so amazing, I don't know where to begin. My girlfriend and I stayed there for one night, and boy were we impressed!! We were a bit skeptical at first, but all doubts were squashed as soon as we walked through the door. A modern, chic interior caught us off guard, as we were checked in by a friendly staff member. We found our room to be cozy and perfectly accommodating. Just when we thought this place couldn't get any better, breakfast happened. I think that truly was the icing on the cake. Their lavish spread of delicious food blew us away. Definitely was not expecting the breakfast to actually be good. But oh man, it surely was. If I'm ever in Berlin again, I refuse to stay anywhere other than Hotel Alex.

And top all that off with an insanely low price! You can't possibly beat this...
