China Food Restaurant — Restaurant in Berlin

China Food on Schloss Strasse  is always on our list of restaurants to go for a meal in Berlin.    Unable to resist one of the marquee selections of roast duck.  My mouth waters  now as I think and write about our experience at China Food.   Our son who  lives & works in Berlin  eats there all the time.  The restaurant is not formal but Germans are.  We thought it odd that as often as he eats here, there would be demonstrative outpouring of greetings and recognition from the restaurant staff.  Not so.    My son and his wife looked at us strangely when we hugged the waitress on the way out.    So you know that the interaction and service  with staff was excellent.  After eating at the China Food   in  late September,  I  insisted  eating here again before leaving Germany.   We did on 3 October.   In the  USA very seldom do you find  duck on the menu.   So selected same menu items.  Soup came  with the selection.  Usually a soft drink beverage is included but opted for a beer instead.    What a wonderful delectable  scrumptious meal of roasted duck & rice.   Highly recommend you savor the tastes and flavors...

I was there couple of days ago and my experience wasn't the best. I was with my friend and we ordered 3 dishes each: spicy soup, nuddles with fork and nuddles with tofu. Nuddles with tofu was awful and we couldn't finish it (other two dishes were okay). When payment time came our check was 45 Euro and we gave them 50 but this 5£ wasn't intended to be a tip. We waited for them like 10 minutes but then we realised they took it as a tip, so we just gave up and left...

The food was underwhelming and we were rushed through it from the ordering to the payment. If you’re looking for a place to have a quick meal, the food and starters came pretty fast but there are definitely better options for Chinese food in the same street, where the service is...
