Update, we came back for more and they seem to have changed their hours, but haven't listed them anywhere :(
Short version - truly the best Thai food I've ever tried - a wide variety of spice levels and flavors in such a small, cozy hub! :)
just note there's very limited seating and everything is made to order so plan accordingly when you can :) we planned to take our food to go, but then the one table for four opened up before our food was ready so we snagged it ;)
Long version - A friend of mine who lived in Cambodia for several years texted me and said he was going to try this cute well-rated Thai place for dinner - later that evening he text again and let me know it was "THE BEST just like in Thailand" - lucky enough to be in Berlin at the time, I went with a group of friends the next day and am already looking forward to my next visit. We tried a curry dish, the pork and broccoli, and two noodle/veggie dishes and everyone was thrilled with theirs and each other's. There's also most additional toppings you can think of if you want to add spiciness in any way later. But I absolutely did not need it because the red curry was so delicious. The portions are absolutely reasonable but a couple of us did order some spring rolls because we wanted something to top...

Each dish is a gateway to authentic Thai flavors, as if you've been transported to a home kitchen far from the busy streets of Berlin. There's no mystery here, just fresh ingredients and a sincere delivery of taste.
I've tried almost everything on the menu, but the Pad Thai and the sweet and sour fried chicken truly stand out. They're not just good ā they are a celebration of textures and flavors that make you forget where you are and, for a moment, feel at home. The curry, though intensely spicy, is a rich explosion of flavors that warms you from the inside out, making you wonder if any other place can balance heat and depth so well.
What impresses most? The simplicity. There's no luxury disguised as complexity, just straightforward flavors with no pretense. And the best part? Affordable prices, so you can indulge without feeling guilty.
The only catch? They only accept cash. But with this level of quality, you quickly forgive that small detail.
If you're searching for true Thai flavor in Berlin, you can't go wrong. Dan Thai Food isn't just a meal ā it's an experience that takes you far away, even though you're just a few steps...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHello everyone,
I'm writing with an important update about Oma Dan, as so many of you miss her and are asking why the shop is closed. I am a Thai resident in Berlin who has been in contact with her.
Oma Dan has been struggling with her health for a long time. Due to her age, she is managing several serious conditions, including rheumatism, asthma, and unstable blood pressure. She has been in and out of the hospital for over a year and is currently not well enough to work.
She still hopes to return to the shop soon, thatās why she is not giving up on her business. She is still paying the shop rent even though she is unable to earn money from it right now. She lives right upstairs and can sometimes manage a walk to the supermarket, but on other days, she has to stay home.
Thank you all for your care and love. I will share any new information here when I have it.
A Note on Reviews: To anyone leaving one-star reviews just because the shop is closed: Please be kind. Oma Dan is an elderly person running this business completely on her own. She doesn't have staff or a marketing team to manage things for her. Your patience during this time is deeply...
