I have never written a review before but I think what happened to me and my guests tonight has to be put out there.
I took my friends visiting to what I always considered being one of the best pizza places in Kreuzberg. The place was very crowded thanks to heavy rain outside, pretty much all of the waiters were shouting and running around like crazy. One of them in particular was extremely rude at every question anyone was asking him. I got pretty quickly irritated by his arrogance and his manners. After 20 mins of waiting we finally got a table (the waiting is the least of my issues here). After another good 15 mins of waiting to get the order I asked the same waiter if we could order and he just laughed at me and did a gesture almost like taking the piss. He left and kept on ignoring us and other costumers that were waiting like us. my guest after a while got really annoyed and told him to be kinder with people and treat the costumers with some respect. Straight away he came to get the order and then started slamming glasses and catering on the table.
We were trying to keep it cool but when it was the moment to pay things started to get even worse: we asked for the bill 4 times to different waiters - asked the same waiter I mentioned above and he started being extremely rude at the point my friend (a 60 yo man) told him to chill again in the most polite way. Ar this point the waiter started shouting at my friend and going towards him as if he wanted to punch him. At this point finally the manager came and started asking what was going on. We were all very calm but this guy was keeping on shouting and despite the manager was holding him and telling to go away he was keeping on going towards my friend in a very aggressive way.
I have spoken with the manager and he apologised but trying to find millions of excuses that would justify this behaviour which to me is unacceptable. (The excuse was that they were stressed because the restaurant got busy because of the storm)
and on another note, my...

De Noantri is a nice mix in between a chilled bar with some punk rock decorations, and the very family friendly traditional italian restaurant.
When i read all the negative feedbacks, a lot says the waiters were not nice lalali lalala. Really, people always complain.
Rude impolite staff are very common in Berlin to me. Very. But at least, in De Noantri we know why. Because it is just some how the italian way to communicate haha. It look like they shout. But it's just the ultra honest direct way many italians speak. And also because it's a big cantina, it's popolare, it lives, it breathes. For sure if you come here waiting for a semi-gastro, then you just mistaked your target.
They have great quality of pizza in oven. all the drinks go out fast. Desserts are nice.
And if not the day you were there, well... That can happen. Because restaurants is not an easy job. Mistakes can happen. They are not robots. Some days they are tired, some other hangover. They are not robot.
But people that come only one time in a place and write an awful destructive feedback, i don't really get it.
Sometimes i suppose it might be totally legitime. That waiter was agressive etc. And that's not ok, for sure.
But many times also, we don't know if just some visitors are a bit stubborn and they want to hear what they want to hear ;-)
Probably it's the same people that regret the fact that chinese restaurants are not owned by true chineses, and libanese restaurants by true libanese, and french by true french, and italian by true italians, and that it was better...
Read moreWe reserved a table at 9 o'clock. I couldn't even try the food because at 10 o'clock we wouldn't have received any pizza yet. Asking the question (asked really politely) of how long would we still have to wait, the waiter is really annoied and tells us " we are really full, can't you see it yourself?" Then we inform him that we would leave because we could wait no longer (I had to go to bed early) and he tells us, with an unfriendly attitude. "Make sure you pay the drinks you had before leaving" (drinks ordered with the idea of eating aswell, but due to the long waiting time, off course finished). We say that they shouldn't get reservations if they are unable to serve their costumers in time. The waiter is now arguing on the fact that we shoud know how to wait in a resturant. I found the behaviour really unprofessional and I asked for apologizes that never came (at least one: we are sorry we were not execting so much people...) This is not the way resturants shoud treat their costumers. Politeness comes first. Better other pizzerias where they know how to be professional. In other resturants when you have to wait for long time you get your drinks...
