El Zarape | Mexican Food & Cocktail bar — Restaurant in Berlin

I always go to this place thinking, “What if there’s a long wait?” since it’s the best Mexican spot in Berlin. But every time, my worry turns out to be pointless – it’s not that crowded. Seriously? I just don’t get it. For a spot this good, even a 30-minute wait would totally make sense.

As a regular, of course I secretly enjoy that it’s not packed – but if the place ever disappeared, it would be a disaster. That’s why I’m leaving this review.

First of all, everything here tastes amazing. The one dish I recommend the most is the chicken fajitas – they are absolutely delicious!

And if any Korean is reading this: make sure you ask for the spicy sauce! They’ll give you the one with the green cap, and it’s a true hidden gem – addictively spicy, kind of like Buldak Bokkeum Myeon sauce. I can’t get enough of it.

Oh, and the cocktails? Every single one is only €4.90 – no matter the type. Great value, and they look beautiful too.

And last but not least, the service is incredibly friendly. If you want to leave the table with not just a full stomach but also a great memory, you should definitely visit this place

We are so glad we found this new place in Wedding and it's becoming one of our spots in Berlin! The cocktails are so cheap (that's why we went) but they are good in taste and you can choose from many different options! It's perfect to have a drink before maybe heading to another bar or event.

The food is also good in terms of quality-price value, either if you go for a meal or if you order something to have with your drinks.

The service is awesome, all waitresses are so so friendly, always making sure everything is fine. When the restaurant is full it has a lively athmosphere, with all types of costumers, from families eating to friends having a drink.

Another plus is the regetton music they play, as a person coming from a spanish speaking country, it made me feel like home! I just wanted...

The waiter appeared to be very attentive and interested in offering good service. I went for a Mexican dinner because they offered a 30% discount via the Fork, but honestly, it is a very cheap copy of Mexican food. I ordered cheese sticks and tacos de Pollo, the tacos oven baked in a hard tortilla, with jalapeños, paprika and a cheese topping and the chicken is in pieces and not pulled.

The cocktails (I tried a the mojito and the gin fizz) they both tasted anis based but not at all with rum or gin.

They of course didn't apply the discount to the total price. Very disappointed and dishonest. I wouldn't recommend this place, I would have abstained from leaving a bad review hadn't been for the dishonesty of the restaurant waiter saying that he had applied the 30% discount...
