I really love to find atmospheric places. This weekend I visited the great bar in Neukölln @geistimglas Vintage furniture, Berlin interior style and delicious cocktails - the perfect place for good time with friends! There are a lot of interesting cocktails here! And it’s enough to tell to bartender what your favorite drink/alcohol/flavour is and you can be sure that get something special! On the weekend, you definitely should come for a brunch! Serving Breakfast Plates For every taste, including vegan and vegetarian options. Plus, I recommend one of the special versions of “Bloody Mary” and “Mimosa” - for example, Zaza's Mary (with “Tom Yum” flavor), Bloody Selene (beetroot drink with apple and celery) Or other brunch cocktails such as Coffee Crack (with tonka and cinnamon) or Little dragon (with mandarin and cherry liqueur) #happyfood_travel recommends visiting this bar with your friends and enjoying non-trivial cocktails! Now in Berlin, like in many other cities, the difficult situation(you know why) and local businesses needs our support! For example, you can do it , just with order a delivery of cocktails and food from @geistimglas to your home! .

Nice presentation of food
Friendly staff
I was able to reserve a large table for a Friday night
Complementary mimosas to compensate for 1+ hour waiting time
Discounted espresso martini to compensate for having to buy our own espresso shot from across the road
Cons
Advertised as a cocktail bar but had no cocktail menu. Instead, you can “create your own” cocktail, however, the staff were far too busy to advise/guide my choice, so I ended up with something I didn’t like and was not even close to what I suggested
No coffee machine - filter coffee only! This is an obvious problem for a brunch place. If you want an espresso martini, you have to go to the cafe next door and get the espresso shot yourself (to be fair, the bartender was very nice and discounted the drink significantly - but if your specialty is brunch, it makes no sense not to have one)
Extremely long waiting times, both in the day and night. Although the bar was not excessively busy, I still had to wait at the bar for about 20 minutes to order. This problem is even more apparent during the day. We waited over an hour for our food (which ended up being extremely disappointing…)
Profoundly underwhelming food. I don’t know who came up with this menu but the flavours were downright weird and pretty awful. Both myself and my partner could barely touch our meals
Very poor value for money: A 200ml smoothie that only comes in one flavour costs 5.50. A bit ridiculous. Small portions of weird food for high prices
We asked for tap water, which the waitress said she would bring. About 45 minutes later we asked again and she told us we could get it ourselves
The interior is way too dark and uninviting during the day
All in all, we won’t be coming back. We were attracted because of the good reviews and photos of the food, but it definitely didn’t live...
Read moreUnfortunately, we can not agree with the repeatedly expressed recommendation in foodblogs at all. For us, Geist im Glas is totally overhyped. Our visit was overshadowed by negative experiences from start to finish and will therefore be our last.
When we arrived, a small line had already formed. We were placed on a bench and could order something to drink, while waiting for a table. Before I had even looked through the card, a red-haired waitress suddenly arrived and tore the card unannounced from my hand and gave it to other guests.
We then got a table quite quickly, but then the longest waiting time ever begun. We (and also other guests next to our table) waited 90 minutes (!) for our food. Two of us had a coffee flat rate and wanted to pour themselves some coffee after no waiter cared about us. Thereupon, one of us was reprimanded in a very rude manner to refrain from doing so. This was not the only negative experience with the service. The same waitress from the beginning was also responsible for us later. Her vibes were unbearable. She seemed to absolutely hate her job and her behavior was rude and unfriendly. Surely it is not always easy to work in service. And we are also used to a somewhat rougher tone in Berlin. But if you don't like working with people at all, as she made impression, you'd better look for another job. Otherwise, you just spoil everyone's day.
When the first food arrived, I had to wait another 20 minutes for my food. In the end, the wait wasn't even worth it, as the food was average at best. The prices are also quite high for the small portions.
In the end, you could not even pay with a card.
Our conclusion: Save your money, don't get screwed and...
